We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kennedy Braucht. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kennedy below.
Kennedy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Yes, I’ve been fortunate enough to forge a full-time career from my creative endeavors. My journey commenced fresh out of college in 2020 when I ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing my own social media services company upon relocating to Florida from my hometown in Georgia. Leveraging my Communications degree with a specialization in mass communications, I meticulously crafted my business model, drawing upon insights from my minor in Business. Initially, I treaded cautiously, honing my craft with small-scale boutique clients before securing larger accounts, including a nationally recognized Insurance Agency and a coveted celebrity fitness gym in Orlando; which marked a pivotal breakthrough in my career. With each client, I refined my operational efficiency, eventually expanding my team and services. However, my trajectory hit a pause with the arrival of my daughter, prompting a brief hiatus to prioritize health and motherhood. Yet, upon resuming, I catapulted back into the world of social media with a renewed sense of awe and determination, now boasting an impressive clientele roster, ranging from a celebrity & athlete Dr. of Physical Therapy to a billion-dollar corporation, a TikTok influencer, and even a network of hospitals in California. From developing apps to orchestrating podcast campaigns and spearheading international market expansions, I’ve navigated diverse projects with poise and professionalism. Reflecting on this journey, I take immense pride in transforming a creative passion of mine into a flourishing six-figure career, a testament to perseverance, adaptability, and unwavering dedication that I never knew I was capable of.
Kennedy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I specialize in social media management and marketing, where I focus on elevating my clients’ brands through creative strategy. My journey into this industry began with a passion for social media and a knack for creative problem-solving, which I honed through years of practice during my formative years. After gaining invaluable business expertise in college, I took the leap to start my own company. What sets me apart is my deeply personalized approach; I don’t just work for my clients, I become fully immersed in their brand, understanding every aspect and genuinely caring about their success. I pride myself on forging meaningful connections with my clients, treating them not as business transactions, but as partners in their journey to success. I’m incredibly proud of the growth I’ve facilitated for numerous companies, both large-scale enterprises and small businesses alike. My passion for what I do drives me every day, and I’m excited to continue helping businesses thrive through innovative social media strategies.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Certainly!
In a pivotal moment of my career journey, I found myself at the height of professional success when life took an unexpected turn. Upon learning of my pregnancy, I faced health concerns that necessitated a shift in my priorities. While it was a difficult decision to step back from my thriving career, I embraced the new adventure of impending motherhood. Following the birth of my daughter, I yearned to reengage with my passions but soon realized the challenges of balancing social media and caring for my newborn. Despite my determination, the demand coupled with the pressures of postpartum recovery, became overwhelming. Recognizing the need to prioritize my mental health, I made the difficult decision to step back once again, feeling somewhat defeated this time. Seeking guidance through prayer and exploration of alternative career paths, I continually found myself drawn back to social media, even in forms of my own personal social media such as Tik Tok where after becoming a mom, I started becoming an influencer but quickly decided I needed to step away from that as well due to my mental health. When an opportunity emerged to focus on managing social media for businesses again when my daughter was almost a toddler, I approached it with careful consideration and support from my husband. Since then, I’ve cultivated multiple successful accounts and collaborated with prominent clients, reaffirming my sense of purpose and direction in my chosen career path.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Under promise, Over deliver.
This is a huge one for me, knowing I can get my client farther than where they are currently is one thing, but I never promise too much upfront. I show them my portfolio, explain how I can help, and with time show them the rest. There is a lot of trust being given from my clients in the very beginning of our working relationship, but as time goes on, they start to see more and more who I am and why my word is solid. I ONLY promise things I can deliver, but always shoot for the highest possible outcome. Under promise, over deliver.
