Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amanda Denise. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amanda, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
This question is always a challenging one to answer because success varies from person to person. What constitutes success for one individual may not necessarily align with someone else’s aspirations and values. Achieving success demands a blend of perseverance, dedication, and resilience. It’s about enduring through countless setbacks, facing numerous rejections, and pouring in relentless hard work. Success rarely comes overnight; it’s a journey filled with trials and tribulations. The key is to remain steadfast in the pursuit of your goals and to not succumb to the obstacles encountered along the way.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Certainly!
My journey into journalism stems from a deep-rooted desire to shed light on forgotten cases, particularly those involving unsolved murders and missing persons in North Carolina.
My mission is clear: to put cold cases back on the radar, working to ensure no victim is left behind in the pursuit of truth and closure. Every case, regardless of its age, deserves to be solved. Families yearn for justice, and it’s my solemn belief they deserve nothing less.
Driven by compassion, I created “Cold and Untold,” a true crime platform dedicated to bringing awareness to the stories that continue to haunt our communities years later. With a background in criminal justice and criminology, coupled with my passion for journalism, I’ve found my niche in bridging the gap between reporting and advocacy.
What I’m most proud of is being able to provide a platform for families to share their stories. Through research, interviews, compelling storytelling, and unwavering determination, I hope to bring closure to those who have long awaited answers.
In a world where cold cases often fade into obscurity, I’m working to ensure these stories are told. Together, we can make a difference, one case at a time.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely, there’s a deeply rooted mission driving my creative journey. I’m dedicated to putting cold cases back on the radar and giving families a voice to share these cases with the world. Each unsolved case represents a shattered family, waiting for closure and justice. By shining a light on these forgotten cases through storytelling, my aim is to rekindle hope within these families and communities. It’s about amplifying their voices, ensuring that their loved ones are not forgotten, and ultimately, striving to bring resolution to these long-standing cases.
By raising awareness and encouraging discussions, I hope to inspire new leads, fresh perspectives, and perhaps even breakthroughs in these investigations.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
This is a really good question!
Pivoting in both career and life is a testament to adaptability and growth. Reflecting on my journey, despite having a clear vision of what I want, the path to achieving it isn’t as straightforward. It’s going to require me to make a significant shift, to reevaluate my priorities and reassess my goals – all of which are necessary for personal and professional development. Today, I find myself still pivoting, navigating through uncertainties and exploring new opportunities. While I may not have everything figured out at the moment, I take solace in the fact that it’s okay to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. It’s during these moments of recess I find clarity and renewed purpose, propelling me forward in both my career and life journey.
