Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Loners Club. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Loners thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Talk to us about building your team? What was it like? What were some of the key challenges and what was your process like?
Being an artists can be very tideous. There’s so many things you can do as well as so many things you have to do to make every single part work. So building a team that helped me bring Loners Club to life wasn’t so easy as well. Finding people who understood my vision as well as someone who could implement correctly, the searching process was very long and hard, especially as a woman with a vision that wasn’t exactly conventional. As well as the fact that I hadn’t really built a team before to begin with. But when I mean it was one of the best things I ever did? I wouldn’t trade my team for the world .
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a singer-songwriter/ creative director! I make music for the soul ofcourse, my sound and my mission is to find strength in vulnerability and honesty. For you to know pain can also bring you so much more. For you to feel seen & heard. I am most proud of how my community and art I’ve shared has grown so much as well as it resonating with my fans and all their beautiful accomplishments and tribulations my art gets them through.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I started Loners Club and Tha Undrwrld as an escape from my own reality. After quitting theatre for many many many yesrs and dealing with my mental health, creating this entity helped me find myself and helped me realize the therapy and growth music provides for the listener. Loners literally saved my life. Made me feel very seen, and it’s my mission now to help others know their pain may be hard, it may be real, it can be so many things, but it’s also the start of something new, a new lesson, a new life, a new chapter. It showed me and helped me realize I need to embrace change & all that comes with it.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the expectation and going with the flow. As person coming from the theatre, they give you a script and you know how the show and everything is supposed to be. Whereas with my art and music, there’s genuinely no telling how or what will happen. It’s a waiting game that showed me i needed to believe in myself first before other can truly believe in me. It taught me lots of patience and honestly how to fail and to not be scared of that. Failing is apart of life and that is where the real journey is.
