Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yvonne Nobles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Yvonne, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Absolutely! I don’t view them as just an escape, but more as an adventurous opportunity to reset and renew so as to continue helping others build the life of their dreams.
I’ve accomplished some of my greatest work while on vacation. For example, I wrote my book “Your 1st Million’s Already in the Bank: An Immersive Guide to Achieving a Wealth Mindset” while on a 7-day cruise I manifested from three years earlier.
One of my many corporate roles was in luxury vacation sales and the moment plans were announced for a specific ship to be built, I decided I’d be aboard experiencing my first suite while at sea. It was on the balcony of that suite, with majestic ocean waves as my background music, that I was moved to compose an invitation for others to share their story as they learned mine since the book doubles as a gratitude journal,
Yvonne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I turn dreamers into doers. My mission is to elevate and empower women everywhere to be seen, heard, cherished & celebrated. I help fierce female visionaries heal childhood wounds, find their voice and build unapologetic wealth to gracefully step into their highest expression.
Current high-ticket offers feature 1:1 or hybrid group coaching, including Becoming, Divine C.A.L.M., Awakening, Majesty, Legacy, Celestial and Transcendence. My work helps women awaken their inner warrior & slay the dragon (fear, anxiety, limiting beliefs) to escape the dungeons holding us hostage.
We are not helpless damsels in distress – we are so much stronger than we think. I simply help others use the keys they’re already holding. I help any who feel trapped (emotionally, mentally) become truly FREE and collapse the time it takes to figure out how, starting with mindset, then developing a concrete plan of action & consistent follow-through.
On a personal note: while I was born in the deep south, Dad enlisted when I was two years old; I grew up around the world moving to a new home every year or two. My husband and I met when we were children living in Germany – he was nine years old and I was six years old. We kissed the first day we met (his idea); our moms became best friends and brought us back into each others’ lives 25 years later. My sunny outlook blessed by God’s grace has led to making the sweetest lemonade from many sour lemons (divorce, disease, distress & death).
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
While there are several occasions Lady Life chose me as her prime pupil to make an example of, I’ll share the one that nearly landed me in permanent isolation.
I was barely 20 years of age at the time and had just made the rash decision to marry a man who’d lived more than twice as long as me and was older than my parents, with children older than me. Our age difference wasn’t the main issue, however. Imagine my shock when I discovered after a few months of newly wedded bliss that he was a closet drug addict.
On this particular night, it was the first time I woke with a feeling of dread: he was gone and I had no clue when he’d return. I promptly made another rash decision: rush to the car and drive lonely streets in the roughest parts of our neighborhood under the cover of dark, hoping I’d spot him somewhere.
With tears streaming down my face – which poetically matched the raindrops that began to fall – I returned home defeated, accepting I had no choice but to wait for his return.
It was a few months later that I was given a lifeline by the grace of God.
My mother had come to town for a visit, and after assessing I was in bad shape, gently suggested I may need to leave for the sake of my sanity. I insisted I’d made a vow, I’d made my bed and must lie in it; I also reminded her she stayed in a rocky marriage for over a decade for noble reasons.
She kissed me goodbye, and must have prayed the full hour’s drive home because her call to let me know she’d made it safely remains one of the most powerful exchanges we’ve ever had.
Mom said: “You know, you’re right: I stayed. And let’s say you stay, then your daughter stays. Who’s going to break the cycle?”
And that was the day I packed by bags.
Sure, there’s much more to the story. But this is usually when I shift the focus to the listener and ask: what damaging cycle must you break free from before it is too late?
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
Guess it falls more under the networking umbrella, really. As a motivational speaker, there are quite a few standout icons that I’d love to meet, and at the beginning of this year I was able to speak with the legendary Les Brown quite unexpectedly.
A dear friend knew I’d just completed publishing my book and was eager to begin marketing it. While she’d shared his contact info years prior, this time proved to be very different. She pointed out he had yet to return her calls, so couldn’t make any promises in passing along his number. I figured it was worth a shot and left a message.
To my surprise, a couple days later my dream came true: his return call came through! But I wasn’t paying attention to the phone, so I missed it. I started screaming and my husband immediately ran in from another room, thinking I’d spotted a spider. I told him it was much worse – I’d just missed a call from Les Brown.
As he’s telling me to pick up – thinking the phone was still ringing – I immediately have a star-struck meltdown. In the few minutes it takes to gather myself, the second miracle happened: my phone finally delivers a voicemail notification. I could see fireworks as I listened to the message and prepped for the 3rd miracle: Les Brown – not an assistant – answered when I called back.
It goes without saying that his profound wisdom and experience are beyond inspirational, and I remain most grateful for the exchanges we’ve had that are prominent pieces in my treasure trove to remember to never give up on my dreams.
