We were lucky to catch up with Tosha and Brian Sessoms recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tosha and Brian, appreciate you joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
We never want to be just the photographer and DJ at a wedding. Brian and I have always tried our best to get to know our couples prior to the wedding day. We love spending time at the engagement session chatting and getting to know each couple. We want to know what our couples are excited about on their special day. By the time the wedding rolls around, we want our couples to feel like we’re part of their family or one of their friends. We believe that having this relationship with our couples helps to ease nerves and helps to create an awesome experience.
Tosha and Brian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Brian and I are a husband and wife photographer and DJ team. I (Tosha) has always loved photography and Brian fell in love with DJing during college. When I decided that I wanted to become a professional photographer, we thought it’d be awesome to work together. That is when we created Story and Rhythm. We help our couples document their life journey. From the engagement to the wedding day to family portraits. We’ve been blessed to work with our couples years after their wedding day. Brian provides all of the music and lighting for each of couples on their special day.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Brian and I met on Facebook before meeting online was considered cool. Brian will tell you that he found my profile through one of my college friends. He reached out to me and at first, I ignored his messages. Eventually, we ended up chatting and have been inseparable ever since.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being in the creative industry has allowed us to meet so many amazing people. We’ve been blessed to have met and worked with lots of awesome creatives and sweet families over the years. I would say that’s my favorite part.
