We were lucky to catch up with Vanessa Navarro recently and have shared our conversation below.
Vanessa, appreciate you joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
I landed my first client by building a relationship with Heather Zade, whom I initially collaborated with as an influencer for her medspa, Adora Aesthetics. At the time, I had a full-time job in corporate and had always been heavily involved in social media and business development. However, besides managing my personal influencer account, I had never done anything on my own.
I saw an opportunity to help Heather’s business thrive through social media marketing and influencer management, so I pitched my ideas to her. After some convincing, she decided to give me a shot. I juggled this side gig alongside my day job, and that’s how I scored my first client!
I’ll always be grateful to Heather for believing in me and giving me the chance to showcase my skills while helping her business grow.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Originally born in Brussels, Belgium, I came to the US 24 years ago with my only known English words being, “Hi,” “Bye,” “1,” “2,” “3.” I arrived with my family to a completely new environment, having to make new friends, learn a new culture, and a new language. Growing up, I have always known and told myself that I wanted to be a business owner or that I wanted to be a surgeon. As a child, I used to watch the Discovery Health Channel and watch all of the surgeries and doctors do what they do best. As I got older, I started having different interests and, of course, ended up in the corporate world. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I was never satisfied with any of my jobs and always felt the need to do more or felt like I had a greater purpose. When I started doing collaborations with local businesses, it lit a spark in me. I, as an influencer, have always been part of the beauty industry, and when I collaborated with Adora Medspa, I started doing tons and tons of research on beauty trends, treatments, procedures, learning about the different products and devices used in medical settings. If I do say so myself, I became an expert in that realm. After getting laid off in 2023, I said to myself, “You know what? This is the universe giving me the opportunity to do what I wanted to do full time,” and that’s exactly what I did. I founded and launched my business, NAVA Social Media LLC. NAVA Social Media LLC is a consulting & social media management company that specializes in serving clients in the medical field, including medspas, doctors’ offices, and individual accounts within the medical aesthetics field. Founded and run by me, NAVA Social Media LLC helps medical practices build their online presence and engage with their target audience through a variety of social media platforms.
At NAVA Social Media LLC, I understand the unique needs and challenges that come with marketing in the medical industry. That’s why I offer tailored solutions that are designed to help my clients stand out in a competitive market, build trust with their audience, and ultimately grow their business.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by sharing outfits, beauty tips and tricks, trending items, and parts of my life like vacations, social outings, and everything in between. People are curious and want an expert whom they can trust. So, it was about building that relationship with my audience and being their go-to person for a more elevated lifestyle. It was about being consistent and being vulnerable. People just want someone to connect with, and that’s essentially how I built my audience on social media!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
In my field, it’s all about numbers and the ability to produce appealing content or strategies for my clients in the realm of medical aesthetics. Once people saw that it worked, that’s when my reputation began to build. The proof is literally in the pudding—either you’re good at what you do or you aren’t, and beyond that, it’s all about word of mouth.
It’s about your clients trusting you, believing in you, loving your work, and feeling comfortable sharing that with others. Reputation in this industry is built on results, trust, and the endorsement of satisfied clients.
