We recently connected with Sarah Pribis and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The first time I ever saw a Broadway show (Beauty and the Beast), I knew that I wanted to be a performer when I grew up. I was about 12 years old and my parents took my brothers and I to NYC, and I’ll never forget the feeling I got from live theater… just this unbelievable energy all around me. However, I have always been a realist (even as a teenager) and I didn’t actually get the courage to pursue a career as an actor until I was randomly scouted for Broadway at 17 years old while performing in my high school play. After that, I had the courage I needed to try.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Authentic storytelling is what drives me, whether it be through playing a character, telling my personal stories on TikTok, or interviewing someone as a host and helping them tell their story. I love teaching, inspiring, emoting, healing, and helping people connect!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
As an actor, I currently audition for about 10 projects a week, and often go 50+ auditions before booking anything. The rejection is a constant battle in this industry. However I will share a particularly difficult lesson I learned that happened in my very first professional opportunity. I was cast in a special one-off Broadway performance of Les Miserables as Fantine at the age of 17. My dad drove me from Philadelphia to NYC every weekend to rehearse. One week before the show, I had my costume fitting. A few days later (DAYS before the performance), I was told that they were recasting my role. They said I was too inconsistent. I also found out that my replacement was the daughter of a famous opera singer. Regardless of the reason (I’ll never truly know), I lost out on this incredible role. However I DID get to perform in the ensemble and I loved every second of it. And I continued to choose to pursue this incredibly difficult career path, knowing the possible heartbreak.
