Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kevin Mosqueda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kevin, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I knew I wanted to pursue music early on in my life. I was gifted a piano during Christmas which was my first instrument I learned how to play. At the age of 12 I then picked up the guitar. I eventually shifted gears to learning how to DJ as I first discovered EDM in middle school. Once I figured out the basics of DJing, I then wondered to myself how exactly music is composed and put together, At this point, I learned about DAWs and the basics of producing music. This eventually led me to the idea that I can really become someone special and showcase my talent to the world through music. I then figured out what alias I should go under and came up with “DEDUXION”. 11 years later, I still am working to make my dream come true as an artist.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a producer and DJ originally from Lemoore, California. I first got into EDM thanks to my sister who was showing me the likes of Benny Benassi, Tiesto, David Guetta, and so on at a very early age. Over time, I realized I wanted to follow in the footsteps of these successful artists and make a name for myself alongside some of the greats. Besides working on electronic music, I also produce beats that fall under various genres. I have produced hip-hop, R&B, and reggaeton for local artists I have had the pleasure of working with over the years. I believe what sets me apart is that I am very versatile and open-minded when it comes to the music creation process. As I said previously, I have had the honor of working with different artists which has allowed me to be placed in certain environments where I must adapt on the fly and provide my best work all in the name of making great music. I am most proud of my previous shows as a performing DJ where I am able to showcase my true talent and provide my audience with music they may or may have not heard before. I love what I do every single day and wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
There are many goals that I have in mind which are fueling my drive as a creative but at this moment I would say one of my main goals is to perform at a major music festival such as EDC Las Vegas or Ultra Miami. As a teen, I would always go on Youtube and see all these artists performing and seeing how the crowd reacted to the music they were playing. This inspired me to learn the artistry in the hopes of being that artist one day. With the help of my parents I was able to get my hands on some decks and get to practicing. I have fond memories of DJing to my bedroom wall and daydreaming that a sold out crowd was in front of me having the time of their lives. I have been blessed to have this happen in real life but am still looking to bring my talents to a larger scale.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
As an artist, I believe the most rewarding aspect is simply being able to create and share my music with the world. Reactions from your audience will always vary, whether they are positive or negative. Regardless of what the reactions are, us artists have a duty to get better at our craft and share our God-given talents with as many people as possible. We are able to create art that has the potential to change someone’s life forever and we must fulfill that to the fullest extent. I am thankful that I have been able to build a following that appreciates my art and I hope to continue down this path and reach as many fans as I can in my lifetime and beyond.
