We were lucky to catch up with Grace Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Grace thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
I was standing in the main pasture, just wrapping up the last of my planned communications for the day at Molly’s farm, when Never walked up to me and laid his big, beautiful, honey-colored head on my chest and pressed his warm cheek into my heart. Molly, taking an audible inhale, straightened her spine and courageously proclaimed, “Well, you know what that means? You need to talk with Never.”
Never, a 30-year-old Arabian gelding, was Molly’s soul-horse. Sadly, Never’s physical health had taken a turn for the worse, and after exhausting the expertise of every holistic and traditional veterinarian in the area, Molly had reluctantly scheduled a euthanasia date for her beloved companion. Barely able to comprehend how she was going to say goodbye to her best friend of over 21 years, Molly had decided against having me communicate with Never before his passing. Luckily for both of us, Never had other plans.
Never began the communication by telling me how peaceful and content he felt. He showed me the views of the full property, of which he had free rein, and explained to me that this farm was his home. Much like a small-town mayor, Never walked the premises everyday, checking in on all the happenings on the farm, the flora and the fauna, making sure everyone was doing well and that he was abreast of all the latest developments. Never described himself as the “keeper of the traditions” and told me how much he had enjoyed getting to know a large number of really great animals over the years including dogs, horses, sheep, cats, and rabbits. When I asked him what his favorite animal was to visit, he said the chickens amused and delighted him tremendously.
Never explained that lately he was having to rest more often during the day due to his difficulties with walking and poor health, so he was working on finding a balance between doing the things he loved and giving his body the care it needed. He felt he was successful at both, and he continued to start his day with his favorite activity of all, watching the sunrise. Never talked about his love of Molly, of their special bond, and of how he would continue to watch over her and the farm even after he had passed. Never knew he would die soon and said he was not worried, his energy had already started to make the transition, and he felt very connected to Creation–and as if to emphasize this point, at that very moment in our communication, the sun burst through the grey, October cloud-cover and a beam of sunlight shone on Never. Again Never expressed a feeling of wholeness and completion with the fullness of his life, the wisdom he had gained, and the love he had given and received.
It was a beautiful and powerful communication, and true to his name, one I will NEVER forget.
Grace, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the sole owner of True Spirit LLC, which is my Animal Communication and Energy Healing business. I am trained and certified in Animal Communication and a variety of Energy Healing modalities for animals and humans. I can work remotely using only a photograph and some basic information, or I can connect with my clients in real time via Zoom or FaceTime. Through Animal Communication, I help people better understand their animals and often am called in to connect with animals who are having behavioral difficulties, experiencing health problems, recovering from extreme trauma, undergoing life changes, missing, or nearing the end of their lives. Additionally, I can communicate with animals who are already deceased. My Energy Healing practice enables me to support animals and people with their health and healing processes on a physical, emotional, and energetic level. I have been interested in Energy Healing for over fifteen years, and started my training in the early 2000’s, but never with the intention of doing it professionally. However, when my dog, Trixie, had an unexpected veterinary emergency and ultimately lost her eye, I threw myself into learning about how to use Energy Healing to help her recover fully both physically and emotionally, and ended up discovering and training in Animal Communication, as well. When I started learning Animal Communication, I wasn’t even sure if I could do it. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that I’d been communicating with animals my whole life, I just hadn’t realized it. After years of classes and hundreds of case studies, I created my own Animal Communication and Energy Healing business to help other animal lovers who may not even realize these modalities exist and that they are legitimate, accessible, valuable, and, in some cases, lifesaving.
It truly is an honor to do the work I do and to serve so many beautiful beings in this way. If you had asked me ten years ago, I would never have imagined myself doing this work as my profession, but lucky for me, life had other plans.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Growing up in rural Ohio was heaven for me. I loved spending my days running through the fields, playing in the streams, hiding in the woods, and being surrounded by all the different forms of life that cycled through the seasons. However, somehow, I had learned along the way that living in the country and in harmony with nature was neither practical nor desirable. So when I was a teenager and my family moved to suburban Michigan, I lost my connection to the natural world and turned my focus toward getting into a good college with the aim of setting myself up for financial and material success. Two Ivy League degrees and a rewarding 21-year teaching career later, I found myself on safari in South Africa where I was confronted with the realization that the part of me I’d allowed to wither after leaving my childhood home in rural Ohio was still with me, and in desperate need of nurturing. I finally understood that there was nothing “practical” about leaving such a vital part of myself unattended and that my life needed to change radically. I didn’t know how that change would happen or what it would be, but after the initially disorienting and ultimately catalyzing impact of an unexpected veterinary emergency followed shortly by a global pandemic, I found myself striking out on my own as an entrepreneur and creating a completely different life for myself that was big enough to incorporate my whole being,
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Before I became an Animal Communicator, I had a twenty-five year career working in secondary, independent schools as a Learning Specialist and founding/directing the schools’ academic support programs. I was often the last hope for students who were having academic difficulties, so I took my role very seriously and studied every subject that I could find that was related to student success and performance. I became well versed in neurology, nutrition, psychology, meditation, and even energy healing, all in an attempt to better understand how to help my students overcome their challenges. At the same time, I worked continuously on myself so that I could hold space for my students and their families during these difficult and often emotionally charged times. I became comfortable with having uncomfortable conversations, with helping people see their situation from a different perspective, and with guiding the focus back to what was most important–the strengths and wellbeing of the child I was serving. My work as an Animal Communicator and Energy Healer is built upon this foundation with an added dimension to my work, the balance between the mortal and the eternal aspects of all living beings. Ultimately, at the core of every living being is a spark, what I call their true spirit, that exceeds all time, space, and intellectual comprehension, but is known to all who have truly seen and loved them. I have a gift for finding that spark and for helping individuals and their loved ones harness its power to fuel their lives by honoring their true spirit.
