We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christine Miller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christine below.
Christine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
My Legacy that I hope to leave behind?
“She worked really hard to spread positive energy everywhere”
She worked in mental health to help others care for their emotions so that they , in turn can spread positive energy everywhere.
She provided trainings to help others help each other…and spread positive energy everywhere.
She was a professional spiritual advisor that assisted many humans to have their own insight through the Tarot, in turn, spread positive energy everywhere.
She had a shop that provided the tools to spread positive energy everywhere.
At the end of the day….caring for our own emotional wellness, embracing spirituality and being kind can spark one soul at a time.
She helped to spark souls….one at a time.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
A lifetime has passed and there were three different paths that all met in one space and time. I don’t even know where to start.
Currently, I have three businesses. Each one of them mean so much to me….and each has their own story. But, the goals all meets in the same space.
What does a therapist, trainer, tarot advisor and spiritual shop owner have in common?
I know…it sounds like the beginning of a really good joke.
Well, it took me awhile to figure it out myself…but the universe guided me every step of the way.
I couldn’t be happier at the way each of these little paths turned out.
And there is a plan to bring them together under one umbrella…but, for now they are like three children. Growing them, caring for them and respecting their individuality….and yet, at the same time…letting them know that they are part of a very meaningful family.
Let’s start with the Tarot. From a very young age, I played with a regular playing deck of cards and assigned them to answering questions. Later on, I found the Tarot and it was like finding my language. The Tarot IS a beautiful language that allows my intuition and “gifts” to speak. There was a couple of years that they were in my closet. Mainly, during the years my children were very young. But, they always came back and demanded to be heard. My three decks play a very special place in my life. They help me help others….and have given insight where I really truly needed it.
The mental health profession was where I was headed from a very young age. I have spent three decades immersed in community and individual emotional health. There was a point in my career where something shifted. We had a strong push towards overall wellness as an industry and profession. I had a very clear attraction towards spiritual wellness. It was almost taboo and very misunderstood. BUT, SO important to one’s overall wellness. Let’s just say this sparked a flame that is still growning today. My second shift came much later. During the pandemic, I saw how much “Purpose” effects our lives and it has become a very big theme in practice.
Somewhere in the middle, The Sage Lady Shop came to be. My shop is able to take my beleifs and research to a whole new level. The shop provides the tools to explore all kinds of spirituality in non traiditonal ways.
I believe that rituals are important to humans.
I believe we all have the capability of having things “move” us
I believe that there is no wrong religion or belief
I believe that we all have a path and purpose….and must always be exploring what it is
I believe that somewhere amongst all the noise…we have one peace.
I just hope to help people find thier own path and journey to their own peace.
……and then spread that peace with kindness and positive energy.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
oh yes. 2018 was definately a pivot.
I was working in community mental health and had been doing so for over two decades. My side “gig” was selling sage and reading tarot.
I came home one day crying. The system was just too much. I was burnt out.
My husband said, “Quit”
As a director at an organization for two decades and us not in the position for me to quite financially, I was flabbergasted.
He explained and showed me that the work I was doing with the Tarot and smudge sales were good….and if I did it full time, I may make close to what I was making at my job. But, even if I didn’t, I can do anthing until I found my footing.
He believed in me and I quite the next day….with two months notice.
It did take me a full year to get my grounding….but, I never missed a bill and I enjoyed every little thing I did for work. I tried selling jewelry when my tarot appointments weren’t enough. I learned how to have a reputable business and found a journey that brought spirituality as a base through several paths. I took a couple of contract jobs for trainings and consulting. My husband became my sidekick for festivals and conventions.
By 2019 I had my in-person shop, my readings and I started doing therapy in a private practice. I also secured some very big mental health and wellness trainings by word of mouth alone.
He tells me now that my best way of functioning is with alot of plates in the air.
He’s right…..I like doing lots of things and not having my own schedule and in charge of my own destiny.
I also like the way I am consistently looking for ways for others to help themselves on their own journeys.
I love spreading positive energy and having the freedom to do it in the way the universe entices me too.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Our INTENTIONS subscription boxes.
We started the INTENTIONS subscription boxes from the Sage Lady May of 2023. We are approaching our one year anniversary.
To be honest, we did not meet our goal, but I am just so happy at how they turned out.
Every month there is a different intention, over 10 items in each box…with instructions and details about the items. There is also a ritual included using items from the box for the intention.
This particular project has brought us outside NJ. The majority of The Sage Lady sales were in person at our shop or at festivals. We have a online store, but it has not gained too much traction.
I am used to doing readings all over the world….but, The Sage Lady shop has been a pretty local situation.
The boxes go all over the US though. I even had one person that orders from California come to our shop during our event when she was in town.
I know it isn’t our biggest financial success thus far….but, I hold alot of pride in getting to know new people, their comments and suggestions.
I am also able to get the information out that I most desperately want to….
these boxes show all different cultures of spirituality, divination and religions.
It is definately a “coexist” type of box
