Alright, Ryan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My mission is to spread flavors across the Greater Cincinnati area! I feel like we could all use more spices in our lives!

Ryan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I got into the food industry by helping my partner Liz Field grow her business The Cheesecakery. My background is actually in chemistry, cooking and baking is nothing more than chemistry. I opened Hurry Curry to play around with mixing and layering of spices and fell in love with the process.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

One lesson that took me some time to unlearn was delegation. My grandfather once told me” In order to multiply and grow you must firs divide”. You must divide up the work and depend more on your team. Sometimes it is difficult to sit and watch them slowly do something you could do in half the time, However they will never grow if you always jump in and do everything. I had to unlearn the mentality of I will just do it real quick.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I opened my business in January 3 months before Covid hit and shut the world down. I was only open for 4 months during that time. Years later people were still asking when I was brining back the curry and how they couldn’t wait. I shut the business down and focused on helping my partner get her dreams up and running. I now have the time to start up the curry. Never give up on your dreams!
