We were lucky to catch up with Sara Knetemann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara , thanks for joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I love this question! I started Arcadia Yoga & Wellness after a major career change. A year after having our second child, I started to feel an intense calling to prioritize myself and my passions. I finally had the professional opportunity to create a small business that encompassed my talents and a way to share them with my friends, family, and community. There are many days that I ask myself, why didn’t I do this sooner, or why can’t I speed up my trajectory now? But this is life! I believe deeply that when you have the idea and the dream to start something, it’s made for you. I heard the call, took very small steps forward to make the dream a reality, and am now on the journey to see where it takes me. I don’t spend too much time rehashing the past or what ifs.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an E-RYT 200hr certified Yoga instructor who specializes in Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin practices. I am a former educator, athlete, and sports coach who weaves the title “Teacher” in all that I do. I am also a practicing Intuitive Reader, I write and record my own meditations, and I created my workshop on “Tapping Into Your Intuition”. I work with both individuals and groups when I teach yoga, present my workshop, or give intuitive readings.
My purpose in life is to be a container for others as I help them transition and transform. This is especially true for me when working with women in my community. I thrive when working in spaces where I can collaborate and create safe spaces for all to share and heal themselves through breath, movement, reflection, and meditation.
I love meeting people where they are- right here, right now! It’s vital work to help others realize their dreams and ways that they can help themselves make them a reality.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
As a former athlete, school teacher, and sports coach, I was taught to hold certifications, degrees, and designations to the highest standard. In some cases I still do. I do find standards to be important and a way to not only build trust with my clients and students, but to also develop and establish safe and ethical practices when teaching. That said, I have also done immense shadow work to release my fears and judgements surrounding the gifts that I was born with.
My intuitive gifts, my deep knowing within my body, and my ability to synthesize my own transformations are not ones that I learned from my college or masters degree, but they are real, they are powerful, and they help me relate to others on a very deep level. This realization has helped me start to heal my imposter syndrome and to become a light and space for others to shine no matter what challenges they face.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I recently had a deep knowing during a meditation. I gave up social media during COVID, and recently come back with my business. Instead of worrying about my social media (YouTube and Instagram) following, I find happiness and success in creating deep connections within my community and with in-person connections. The best source of quality interactions with clients and students have come from my partnership with my local yoga studio as well as my partnership with other small business owners (who happen to be exclusively female-owned). I have partnered with businesses to provide yoga classes, workshops, intuitive readings, and/or small freebies for grand openings, seasonal events, pop-ups, and client appreciation days. These have been incredibly rewarding because they often lead to one-on-ones with clients or invitations to participate in other events in town!
