We recently connected with Chynna Monforte and have shared our conversation below.
Chynna, appreciate you joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
The brand and web agency space is very white male dominated, and so we’re able to diverge as an intersectional team. This is important because we’re able to help our clients actually tell their stories and be represented in their industry. We also flip the industry with our One Day Website service, whereas most web design projects have longer timelines, we’re able to get someone launched in a day!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Monforte Studio is a QWOC owned design studio. For us, creation is just another tool in our advocacy arsenal. Creation is how we support our community. Creation is how we provide BIPOC, queer folks, and otherwise historically excluded communities with the support they need to build something impactful, legacy-making, and authentic. Creation is how we honor what was, impact what’s now and shift what’s next. Creation is how we shed light on injustices and demand equity for our communities. And creation is how we tip the scales back in favor of Black, Brown and Queer folks. Little by little. Every single day.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
We’ve gotten so many clients from referral, which truly means that we are a business built by and for community. Without community we couldn’t have gotten where we are, so we are super appreciative.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is getting to infuse self expression with the call to action to advocate for the liberation of all BIPOC people, globally.
