Alright, Generra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe the old theme still rains true; it takes hard work, effort, and tenacity to succeed.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started creating resumes around 2010; I always acquired new jobs even when the economy was in turmoil. My friends would ask me how I could remain gainfully employed and how I could frequently switch employers with such a down economy. So, I started helping my friends and family gain employment by crafting their resumes. Eventually, I decided to turn it into a business venture.
We strive to provide our clients with the perfect resume reflecting their personalized skills and qualifications. The company’s main objective is to enable clients to seamlessly gain employment, switch careers, or re-enter the workforce. What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My most effective strategy from growing my clientele and being in business for over a decade is word of mouth. How often has someone else opinion of a restaurant, small business, hairdresser, or doctor determined if we were going to do business with them? It’s the reason we look at google reviews before visiting a place or amazon prime reviews before purchasing an item. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing, and it is what has kept my company thriving over the years. We take pride in providing world-class customer service, and it shows in our 5-Star reviews on Google, Facebook, and Yelp.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The initial capital I used to fund my small business was my 9-5 job. I knew I no longer wanted to be confined to working for someone else’s company; I wanted to pursue my own. However, there are many costs associated with starting a new business, including but not limited to business license, permits, marketing, products, and software that you have to purchase to ensure your company operates professionally. So I used my job to fund my business until my business could sustain itself. After a year, I applied for business credit, grants, and loans if I needed the capital for unexpected expenses or long-term business investments.
