We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Swany Kapadia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Swany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission at its core is making people feel better, and bringing them peace in their mind, body, and soul through touch. Many of my clients mention feeling revitalized after sessions not just physically, but internally as well. I also help bring clients a kinesthetic awareness of their body and what makes it tick through their muscle movement, further providing insight into what exactly is bringing them discomfort throughout it.

Swany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I began my career in 2009, and continued my practice of massage therapy all the way to now. Through my experience I’ve gained a sense of awareness to the body allowing me to feel where attention is needed the most, making me a very intuitive therapist. I’ve worked in a variety of workplaces up until about 3 years ago where I opened my own practice to provide a much more personal and customized experience. My specialties are deep and sports massage as well as Intra Oral massage which helps with TMJ issues. I’m most proud my ambitious drive to innovate, and expand my business and services to increase the ways that I can help my clients.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
My most effective way of growth is by word of mouth. My client base is highly motivated by endorsements of my regulars, and I continue to expand with friends of friends coming to see me.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’ve learned that you can’t please every single client, and not every therapist can go with any client. You have to be okay with not being the best fit, and also being able to recommend other therapists without feeling bad about your own work
