We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sheena Aaron a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sheena , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

In order to be successful you must believe in yourself and your abilities. You have to develop a positive mindset and affirm your worth. Recognize that your unique qualities and experiences contribute to your strength. Its important to also embrace challenges that you face instead of avoiding them. Challenges make you stronger and give you a frame of reference that can also be used to help others. I’ve learned that you have to be willing to leave your comfort zone. I have tried many different aspects of learning and self development in order to push myself and grow as a model and motivator. Its super important to identify your passions when you come up with your goals because your passions will drive you. I have always had a passion for fashion and loved the art of motivational speaking so I have decided to explore those areas in depth. You also have to stay curious and open to learning and expanding.

Hi! Its Sheena Aaron here, the girl behind the brand, Style By Sheena. I am a published author and model. I have several books available on Amazon which include: The 90 Day Shift a comprehensive program created to shift your mind, body & self image in just 90 days. I create Youtube content that focuses on mindset motivation, and my social media presence promotes self love and confidence. My brand focuses on looking and feeling good from the inside out.

Have you ever had to pivot?

I began as a fashion blogger and had to pivot once the revenue from blog ads slowed down. I then decided to get in front of the camera. I slowly shifted from solely self created content to modeling for brands and working paid shoots in studio. It created a new issue that I had to overcome which was my need to control every aspect of image. Letting go of control allowed me to grow in ways I couldn’t imagine.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

My side hustle grew into a viable income source that beat out my day job. I work as an administrative assistant by trade but modeling has allowed me a great deal of financial freedom that I couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Time management has allowed me to do both. I started off modeling at a lower rate and with more exposure I was granted the opportunity to work with more brands and get my content out that brought in paid partnerships and opportunities for affiliate marketing.
