Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Crealot. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Crealot, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Taking a risk on myself was the biggest and most life changing action that I could have ever done for myself, and I’m happy I did it. I think everything that I’ve cared about pursuing with the hopes of a great and fulfilling return has been risky. We all have an idea of how tough the music business can be, but you really never know the depths of it until you’re in it. I’ve found that in both good and bad experiences that I’ve had with music. Whether it be from monetary value and praises from people, or losing everything and being homeless- to gaining that back and more, I will always love creating art and will push myself to the freedoms of chainless creativities. So, it’s like, why quit when you just keep getting better? Why stop when you’re always learning something new. I just believe I have a blessing to give to this world, and the only way they will see it come into fruition is if I bet on myself.

Crealot, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Ok, I grew up in a musical family, which is why music is a main focus of mine. I also came up in an era where you wanted to be different and stand out from the rest of your musical competition. So, uniqueness has always been a part of my artistries foundation, and I developed that uniqueness by really getting more comfortable with who I am and what I represent in life outside of music. Like, get this this. My name alone is literally one of few on this whole planet. Google it. I’m serious. Crealot. I made that name up and it means “to create” or “creator”. When it comes to my growing audience, they appreciate me because I give them an artist who can tell his own unique story, but have it be relatable as well. It’s like a sense of truth and innocence to it, to where if you really tap in, I might just be having a conversation with you through the music. Part of my brand is “The Human Experience”, which is also the title of my self debut ep. I just believe real human experiences are stories worth telling, and that you don’t have to settle for the “same ol same ol” whatever they give you type of music. I think my listeners are better than that.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my opinion, society has to start putting themselves in the artists shoes when it comes to “the business”, because at the end of the day aside from interacting on social media, it all comes down to money. A lot of artists, not even talking mainstream, invests hundreds to thousands of dollars into making a product that took them months to years to make, only for the audience to pay $12-$15 for that same product. Streaming is a whole other ridiculous animal. Artists a literally getting paid fractions of a cent, per so many thousand streams. So, you see where I’m getting at? Not only does society have to start valuing art more, but they have to be willing to support artist directly. Whether that be buying from an artist website or unsubscribing to certain platforms that artist say they are not being valued at.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. What’s driving the mission first is the love that I have for creating music- creating art. Outside of that, personally, I just strive on each project that I put out for it to be better than my last. From the creativity, to the production, to writing, the feeling, the imagery. All of that has to always step up. As it relates to everyone else. I really just want to be great, and to have my name and work, undoubtedly mentioned in the same conversations as Ye, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, or J Cole, or Tupac.
