Shamineke , appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think it takes faith, prayer, patience, determination, great customer service, great leadership, consistency, hard work, and much more to be successful. Success doesn’t come over night, it takes time and much hard work. You also have to have a passion for whatever it is that you are doing or see yourself doing long term. So many people don’t reach that desired level of success, because they give up when faced with challenges and obstacles. Success is not going to come easy but if you continue to press through, it’ll all be worth.



Shamineke , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Shamineke Green, I am the CEO of the beauty and cosmetics business, Lush Hair Bundlez LLC. We sell a wide range of products such as, lipgloss, lip scrubs, body butters, body shimmer sprays, foaming body scrubs, lip oils, edge control, bonnets, edge scarves and more. I started my business in 2018, and the idea of starting a business was given to me by my sister. I was hesitant at first because I guess, I was doubting myself and what I was capable of doing. Doubting myself is my weakness but I had to learn and still learning, that doubt is a fear that I must overcome if I want to reach that level of success that I desire. One of my main goals when I started my business, was to ensure that I provide great products and great customer service to my customers. I always want to treat people how I like to be treated. I am most proud of building relationships with my customers, I have formed bonds with people who were and still are customers. I’ve shipped my products to over 20+ states and that is such a blessing to me. I still have a lot of work to do but to see how far my business has come and how so many people enjoy my products, makes my heart happy. I enjoy what I do and making people feel good.


Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been word of mouth and constantly promoting on social media, to keep my brand on people’s eyes. This is something that took time for me to learn because I wouldn’t promote as much. I had to learn from other business owners, that promoting is key. You have to keep your brand and products in front of the people’s eyes.



Have you ever had to pivot?
A time where I had to pivot in business is when I had to change out certain products that I sold. I wanted to shift my target audience by offering products that were higher demand and catered to everyone instead of a select group. That was one of the best decisions that I have made in business because it worked.
