Hi Nicolette, thanks for joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My mom has always been a huge impact in my life. She is a strong, nurturing and successful woman. She taught me there is nothing impossible in life. She taught me that if you wish for it you can have it. I remember when I first told her I wanted to be a teacher she cheered me on from the beginning. My mom, my hero as a single mother, she did an excellent job with my sister and I.
I remember when I first told her I wanted to be a teacher she supported me from the start. She helped me to do some research and with a huge effort she helped pay for my education to become a Montessori teacher in La Jolla, CA. After a few years teaching and with more experience I decided it was time to have something of my own and have my own Montessori school. In January of 2018 Mondo Bambini Montessori School was opened in Eastlake, CA. My mom was my best cheerleader, always on my side through ups and downs and she is still always here on my side. Now after four years of my business I can say I am satisfied with everything I have done thanks to my mom.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I have been teaching for more than nine years and it has always been my passion. After a few years as a teacher I decided to have my own business and run a Montessori school in Eastlake. It is a small and beautiful community full of love and lots of fun.
In May 2018, this amazing chapter started with ups and downs. Since then, I have learned a lot but the journey has definitely been worth it.
Welcome all to our beautiful community “Mondo Bambini Montessori School.” Montessori is a method for educating children from infancy through high school, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori (Aug. 31, 1870-May 6, 1952). At Mondo Bambini, we accept children from 18 months up to six years old. We focus on each child’s individual needs and guide them towards independence.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
One of the keys to success in your business is to know your competition. Don’t be afraid of this step. If your competition has been around for a while, they have to be doing something right, so it’s best to study what that is. Yes, they are your competitors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn something from them.
Second is to be there at all times. Your business will need you since the very beginning, make sacrifices and lots lots of patience , be consistent, get organized and have excellent service with your clients. In my business parents are my clients so I always treat them with respect and I make sure I answer all of their questions, that way they feel comfortable and trust my school. it will be a challenge but I promise that one day you will wake up and say “Everything was worth it”
