We recently connected with Jerame Mudick and have shared our conversation below.
Jerame, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our mission is to guide you back to yourself. What this means can be different for every person. But what it means to me is finding yourself, discovering the best you, the real you, before the world got its hands on you. We all have experiences in life that can be defining moments to mold us into the person we are. Often times that leads to hardening in areas that need to be softened or softened in areas that need to be hardened. This is the story of my life and so many others.
This is why we aim to teach you how to “go through and not around” the battles of life. How to manage stress and not run from it. How to go through fear, knowing that courage is on the other side.
I believe this is why God gave me this mission for this day and time in existence. With more information at our fingertips than we can handle, it is more vital than ever to have discernment. With our teachings and practices at Re|Connect, we believe that we are aiding each person in unlocking the parts of their mind that opens the door unlimited possibilities.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Coming from a life of constant pain in my body, sick two to three times per year, and overwhelming emotional battles of the mind, I was led to the answers through prayer and open conversations. Searching for ways to heal my body and strengthen my mind led me to Wim Hof “The Ice Man” and Dr. Joe Dispenza. Two men who made everyone in the scientific community question what they really knew. A man who could not only withstand freezing temperatures by generating heat in his body at command. As well as activate his autonomic nervous system and influence his immune system at will. Something that science has stated is impossible. He proved we can all do it. Joe Dispenza once paralyzed not being able to walk, to healing his body completely and now travels the world teaching others how to do it.
These findings resonated so deeply with me, in what I always thought was possible, but I had no idea how to get from point A to point B.
This is where I was led to the freezing water, breath work, and meditation. Three things I did not like and always ran from. I always disliked the cold and loved the hottest days of Arizona summer. Meditation didn’t make sense to me, and my breathing was always very poor. I had my breath taken from me many times as young man through traumatic experiences and this led me to always struggle with breathing. Which in turn helped build a great relationship with anxiety. That anxiety would take me quickly into fear every moment that I faced discomfort.
Coming from a very supportive and loving family, I had the blessing of support in anything that I chose to do. But they and most others had no idea I was battling with so much every day of my life. Never allowing myself to be a victim of the cards I was dealt, I finally found myself in that freezing cold water. I found the best parts of myself hiding tucked away behind all the experiences of my past.
My company motto was created in the second ice bath I took because I finally took ownership of everything in my life.
“You are the cause. You are the cure.”
I believe God gave us all that we need to heal ourselves, we just have to get out of the way. When you finally allow yourself to feel every bit of discomfort, whether it is in the present moment or from the past, we learn to grow through it. “When we allow ourselves to feel it, we learn to grow through it.” Something I tell all of my staff and members at Re|Connect. We can change and rewrite the stories we tell ourselves. But it takes surrendering to a moment and leaning in, to fully embrace the vibration of change.
After going through this transformation of taking back my breath and my mind, my spirit was ignited to share what I discovered. So I started inviting friends and clients to come over to do breathwork and an ice bath. A lot of them thought I was crazy, which can you blame them? But a handful thought “hey why not? I trust this guy, let’s try it!” Soon I would have weekly visitors to come try what I was doing twice per day.
Here is the best part of this story. I not only took back control of my mind and healed my body from all of the constant inflammation. I have not been sick since I started 6 years ago. I found what God was trying to show me all along and how to teach others.
So exactly 5 days before the pandemic hit and the world was locked down, he gave me the vision of Re|Connect Mind Body. I woke from that “cat nap” and wrote down everything that came through, and in that moment, I knew what was to come next.
I knew when the dust settled from this worldwide disaster, that everyone would be faced to look at their health in a different light. That they would have to make it a priority. With the blessing I already received of not getting sick again and healing the wounds of my past, it was time to give this to the world.
So the next day I got started on this vision. The stars aligned and I was blessed to have some amazing people in my corner. Without the support of those closest to me, it would have made this so much harder to make a reality.
Now we have our beautiful center with over 10k visitors in that last 3 years and changing lives every day.
We are a fully guided service with breathing exercises, cold water immersion, sauna therapy, compression therapy, red/infrared and green light therapy. We provide breathwork and sound healing classes every week.
This place has become not only a second home for many, but a second family.
We are honored to serve such an amazing community that shows up on their best and worst days ready to embrace what comes next. And we are with you every step of the way.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The story of funding my business is an interesting one. I was the co-owner of a gym and just paid off all of my debt. Finally, debt free and organized to where I could start building a new foundation that would keep me out of debt. I was in the process of separating from my partnership and told myself I was done owning in the brick-and-mortar space.
Then one week before the pandemic hit and the world was put on pause, I had my vision. That Monday afternoon at 1pm my vision came through and I wrote everything down. Going throughout the rest of the day not thinking too much about it because of my current circumstances, I had to ask myself If I was willing to go back into debt to create this company.
The next morning, my first client and I were in the middle of her training when she stopped and had to share something. She said “Jerame, you need to open a healing center. You know how you get people to do the ice baths and stuff, you need to open a place that can offer that”. I immediately stepped back and said “Whoa, why did you just say that?!”. She states, “I woke this morning and was told I had to tell you that”.
So here I am frozen looking at her with this crazy look in my eyes as tell her about my vision the day before. Much to her surprise she grabs her chest and says “Jerame, that means you have to do this! I have some money I can give you right now to help, how much would it cost?”.
After that moment, I got to work. I created a document between her and I for my payback and interest to her for her kind deed which set the tone for how everything else going to be from here on out.
I have always believed this, but after that conversation I knew it to be absolutely true. God will provide.
After her initial investment, It was up to me to hustle and sell as many memberships as possible before the doors opened to pay for the rent. The first few months were very rough using all the money I had saved up but right before it all ran out, the growth of Re|Connect began. It was one mile stone after the other. My staff and I got to work as the word spread about what we were doing. Like I said before, God will provide.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The approach to social media is different for everyone depending on what it is you’re trying to do. I wasn’t as interested in building a million followers as I was in being an audience. I knew If I could get people’s attention, I would have greater success at getting them in my doors. So, the approach I took was consistently aggressive. I would post the information I knew the world needed to hear and not what they wanted to hear. I shared before how I haven’t been sick ever since starting this practice, so I spoke heavily about that. In a time where everyone fears getting sick, the passion in my words seemed to bring some hope for many. Leading by example I believe was the biggest part of this. Showing myself get into the ice bath and do breathwork for everyone to see, helped them connect to my mission.
I wanted to inform everyone that it was safe to do, and it is a way to naturally heal yourself from the inside, out.
Not only did I post this type of content, but I messaged everyone I knew on my personal page, Instagram and Facebook. I blasted messaged out like it was my last day on earth.
This brought everyone to a stage of curiosity, which led to questions, which led to them being intrigued to try it. Next thing you know, they are in my center coming every week!
