Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alto Daniels. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alto, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
First, you have to look at what you have chosen to do, is this something you know how to do? Is this something you are good at? Do you have the means to get it done? Do you truly have the skill set to make it happen? Or do you just have the idea of having your own business as an entrepreneur? These are a couple of questions you should ask yourself before you execute. In your beginning stages, an idea and execution run side by side. So you will be busy. In the beginning, This is not the time for grace wasters. You have to execute and cut out non essentials and recognize the key factors. An idea is a concept of your thoughts. You have to understand your market, have a solid strategy and then execute your plan and stick to it. You will be the driving force. You will have to lead by example. Proper planning is essential. It will save you a lot of time and money. This cycle will continuously repeat itself throughout. Monitor your executions, keep track of your performance and most of all take accountability. If something goes wrong, learn from it, correct it and do it right the next time.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
It is good to communicate openly and transparently. Doing this minimizes room for error. You have to set clear team goals. This will draw a line with what is acceptable and what is not. You have to provide feedback regularly. This will allow everyone to be on the same page. As a leader you cannot be afraid to delegate a task, but also when you do this, get out of your team members’ way. Let them do their job. Try not to micromanage if it is not necessary. Time management is very important. Do not over extend yourself trying to make something work. Revisit it at a later date.
If you have a conflict between team members, settle it quickly and amicably also, however necessary but appropriately. You may deal with high emotions, so handle it with intelligence and grace. Create a positive team culture where you have active listening and effective communication. When I interview I listen to what you are telling me and what you are not telling me.
Set Goals for your company and your team and also for your team members as individuals. Some team members may be stronger than others however, I will work with your 70% performance over your 110% performance if your 70% is an honest dedication to the company. Honesty Loyalty and integrity goes a long way. You may be good at what you do but if it comes with an extra that has a negative impact then it will hurt the company. Set performance management and task planning and assignments.
Even coaches have coaches. So get a coach. Someone who you can trust to see what you cannot.
