Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tainabelle Joseph. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tainabelle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
At the top of this year I signed to a talent agency that I have been following for some time now. Signing with an agent was one of my goals for this year and it was accomplished so early on that I almost didn’t believe it was happening. As a thespian, it is important to have a team behind you working with and for you to book projects and grow as an artist. It has taken some of the weight if feeling like a one woman show, off my shoulders and it’s a wonderful feeling.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Big Bellez! Singer, songwriter, actress, and all around artist. Most people know me as Bellez (my nickname) the “Big” has become my artist name and stems from an insider between me and some of my close friends. I am really small in stature but when I am introduced or greeted they say “Big Bellez! Not the little one!” I love it. For me it has an additional meaning; though I am petite, nothing about me is small, from my mindset to my place in the spaces I enter, to the things I expect to create and blessings I expect to come to me. I entered the acting space about 2 years ago now. Acting, singing, songwriting, and poetry have been gifts of mine for as long as I can remember. I got into this industry because it was already in me and I discovered I could do more than just possess the gifts. I could actually actively use them. Making a living would just be a bonus. Right now, I am most proud that I released my first single “Pull Up” in October and it is on all DSPs now! I am still recording and writing more music and will drop my first full project, along with visuals this year! So I am really excited for what is coming!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the connections made. Whether it be, gaining a fan, or meeting other creatives who become part of your tribe, the human connection gained through creating really does it for me. The other part of that for me personally, is the feeling I get when I finally execute and complete something I have been working on. Whether it be a project I was a part of or the final product of a song I write, I get this sense of accomplishment, and when other people respond to it with enthusiasm, appreciation, admiration, or even criticism it ignites my desire to create more. The beautiful thing about creativity is that it is a constant exchange between people. A pouring in and pouring out; you give and take in a wonderful way. I live for that.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
To put it simply, the mission that is really driving my creativity is to get all of these thoughts and ideas out of my head and my body. There are so many ideas I can’t stop thinking about and want to share with the people. Honestly I feel like I’m bursting at the seams with creative ideas and if I don’t bring them to life (which is not an option), not only will I feel overwhelmed, but I won’t have enough room or space available for new ones that are coming. So for me it is a freeing thing. I NEED to do it, for myself and for everyone it will impact.
