We recently connected with Crystal Correces and have shared our conversation below.
Crystal, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
– Expanding outside my comfort zone meant reinventing who I was. I had to dial in, who do I need to become so that my dreams were possible. Moving past my personal self-imposed limitations, healing journey, and getting clarity.)
– Getting spammed, harassed, and threats from online trolls. ( We rebranded, created safeguards, used agreements vs expectations within our business, told our story, etc)
– Getting overlooked being a women teaching business. (having people say “let me talk to your husband scenarios as a confounder and co-owner of this business” how I navigated it was through framing, reiterating, or having those open honest convos with these people)
Overall, creating systems of habit, systems of business, and systems on how we framed and moved through things through our nonvisual branding is what helped me personally and the business my husband and I own create better outcomes and greater impact.

Crystal, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi there! I’m Crystal Correces, the co-founder of WLMA. My journey has taken me from the intensive care unit as a Nurse and wedding photographer to a unique blend of both worlds. I’ve been able to merge my expertise as a NEURO ICU nurse as a holistic health and wellness nurse coach and my background as a wedding photographer who’s scaled the business to the 6-figures into an online education program with my husband Jordan. Now, I dedicate my time to teaching wedding photographers and filmmakers across the globe about business, branding, and the power of mindset, habits, and systems. My approach is all about providing a holistic perspective on entrepreneurship that drives results.
At WLMA, we’re passionate about helping driven individuals in the wedding photography and filmmaking industry elevate their businesses to achieve six-figure revenues and beyond. Our online program includes comprehensive courses, personalized coaching, and a vibrant, supportive community. This community thrives both online and through in-person retreats, fostering connections and growth.
What I love most is the opportunity to foster lasting change in people’s lives, meeting them exactly where they are. Coaching in business, branding, and mindset often means guiding individuals to confront and overcome their own barriers. This process isn’t just about professional growth—it’s about crafting a life filled with meaningful connections, personal achievements, and time well spent with loved ones and whatever is important to the individual.
Having faced my own set of challenges, including a period of living out of my car and navigating through tough experiences, I find immense joy in giving back and doing something that is outside myself.

Any advice for managing a team?
Any problems with the teams lands on you as the leader. When I identify issues, I sit back and ask how could I have communicated this better, or what boundaries do I need to set in place, or what guidelines can I create for this to work better.
Being honest and open.
Providing direct and clear communication.
Creating a space for them to share their ideas and feel like a valued member of the team.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I’m a big reader and love podcasts. Some books that have shaped how I live life and run business are:
– The Four Agreements by Don Ruiz
– Mastery by Robert Greene
– Principles by Ray Dalio
– Atomic Habits by James Clear
– $100 Million dollar leads by Alex Hormozi
