Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elsha Bell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Elsha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Photography has been a passion of mine from the moment I discovered a portrait of my mom, taken in 1969…captured on film, super imposed over swirling oil, developed in the darkroom.
This photograph has stayed with me ever since. This is when my passion began.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My love for photos started in middle school, however I was in front of the camera more than behind it. I modeled and took on smaller roles as an “Extra” in both films and tv.
I began studying Photography in college, the camera gave me a outlet to share my creative side. Once I picked up a Camera, my passion grew and I launched my Business in 2018.
I currently shoot lots of variety, this keeps my creative brain HAPPY! Everything including Family, Maternity, Grad, Newborn, Milestone, and Elopements.
My passion is to creative work that’s Storytelling and Emotive.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Capturing moments that over time fad otherwise. Freezing time for my Clients. Providing images that will be loved for decades to come. Capturing sweet moments with your children, important life moments, and everything in between.
Being able to travel to epic locations with my Clients and document their story, is my life’s mission.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Starting my Photography business after spending 20+ years working in a completely different field. This was scary. Am I too old to pivot? Will I be successful? Is this field too saturated? These questions I asked myself over over again. In fact people close to me, also had these same concerns.
But I took the leap because my passion outweighed the risks. Because I knew it was important to FOLLOW MY DREAMS! Because no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it all seemed to start a new career at my age, I KNEW I could show my children, that its never too late to forge your own path, and it’s to never give up on your dreams!
