We recently connected with Sara Robinson and have shared our conversation below.
Sara, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
My daughters inspire me everyday – so I found it fitting to name my business after them. Noelle Rose was created by using both of their middle names.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Sara Robinson and I’m the owner of noelle rose studio llc. The products I’ve created reflect my love of simple, classic styles with a focus on flavors and florals. All candles are hand poured by me providing a unique product in size, shape and color. Made with 100% soy wax for an eco-friendly, clean burn. Floral embed toppers use 100% beeswax. All of our candles are made using all-natural cotton wicks and premium phalate-free frangrances infused with antural essential oils.
Candle making started out in 2020 as a hobby, turned into gifts for friends, and then noelle rose studio was born. I never would’ve thought that I’d go from working in the entertainment industry to this but I truly enjoy it.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The candle market is saturated so my main goal is to continue creating unique pieces in floral style that you don’t see everywhere. I’ve pushed my self to participate in more pop up markets and boutiques this past year and I really think it paid with new client relationships as well as new wholesale contacts. I’d like to fine tune my booth display this year to create a unique shopping experience and hopefully draw in new candle lovers.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
Currently, I only sell on my own website – www.noellerosestudio.com, via wholesale and at pop up events. I’d like to consider other platforms this year but there is A LOT of candle competition on those sites and they charge many transactional fees to the retailer. I hope to find just the right fit for another online retail option soon. And I’m so grateful to the South Bay LA businesses that are now stocking my candles on their shelves and including me in meet the maker in-store events. It’s always a pleasure to see returning customers and meet new ones in person. I’m focusing on growing my email marketing and social media presence to include giveaways, behind the scenes and new products to expand my website sales as well.
