We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Melissa Copenhaguen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Melissa below.
Hi Melissa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Picking a name for my business was a fun process. I remembered a nickname, “Lolis,” given to me by my sister. Even though I didn’t like it at first, I decided to go with it. Sweet Lolis came about because I thought, instead of getting upset, I’d turn it into something positive. Since I love baking sweet cookies, that became the name of my business.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello,
I’m Melissa Copenhaguen, a passionate baker, entrepreneur, business owner, and musician based in Burbank, CA. Despite being born in Mexico, I’ve called the U.S. home since the age of 5.
My journey into baking began over a decade ago as a hobby, that quickly evolved into a professional career driven by my love for creating delicious treats. Specializing in cookies, especially intricately decorated ones, brings me so much joy. Each order I work on is approached with a deep passion for perfection.
Sweet Lolis, is committed to offering the best service and experience for your special events. We pride ourselves on prompt responses, using only the freshest ingredients, and infusing every cookie with genuine love.
I appreciate your time in reading this, and I hope you consider Sweet Lolis for your next memorable occasion.
Wishing you a beautiful day,
Melissa Copenhaguen

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love to read, and I’m always into books that provide helpful knowledge. Currently, I’m focusing on understanding money better. It’s not just about how much you make; it’s also about serving others, which I believe is the key to earning money and achieving real success.
If I am to recommend a couple of books, I definitely would have to say start with the following two:
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill &
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I may not be a social media expert, but I’ve learned that just being yourself and staying consistent is crucial. Connect with your audience, be real even in business, and be active every day to make your presence known
