We recently connected with Sarah Monroe and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah , appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?

They say you die twice: Once when your physical body leaves this world, and a second time when the very last person who knew you departs as well. I hope that last person got to live a long, ecstatic life. If I am so lucky to have my name imprinted on their heart, they will remember how much I celebrated life. I hope they knew how much I was rooted into this earth, bare feet stomping, heart pounding, with a wild song on my lips, and a dance shaking from my hips. This life is too short not to live it. To laugh and sing and dance and make love and be love. I hope they got to see me grow into an old Hag. To have lived a life of abundance, one this dying patriarchal world could never understand.

To have lived FULLY. That’s how I hope they remember me.

Founder and Creatrix of The Art of Wild Pleasure and co-creatrix of the Temple of the Rebel Goddess, Sarah Monroe is a (re)Wilding Guide, Drum Witch, Spoken Word Artist, and Priestess of the Sacred Grove. In love with the delicious ways our bodies move, Sarah believes that there is a direct correlation between a happy, vibrating vulva, and a deeply satisfied soul.

Her sacred medicine in this lifetime is tending to women in any stage of their (re)birth. Sarah wants to help you become rooted and wild. To love any place your feet are planted, yet be whole-heartedly open to all the pleasures that this cosmic existence has to offer… and to recognize when anything is in need of change.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

My main connection to clients is through Women’s Retreats. I have hosted multiple retreats over the last 4 years and that is a true testament to following through.

For my very first week-long retreat I begged people to join and ended up gifting multiple spots to women who would never be able to afford it because I had to pay for the seat regardless of if there would be a body there. I went into debt because I knew that this was where my passion moved so intensely.

My second retreat I broke even.

My third retreat sold out in 2 months.

If I didn’t believe in my work I would never have seen it through to the 4th year (some spots are still available but I’m close to sold out!)

I will never be able to describe how much I enjoy holding space for women and watching them break open. It’s indescribable.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Social media, SEO, and word of mouth have been utterly important for growing my clientele. In this age of technology, we have to learn how best to connect with our clients and most of that is through digital content. Taking your time to understand how platforms work, using the plethora of online how-to’s and videos is imperative, and never be afraid to lean on friends to gain their perspective. Often we are too close to the tree to see the forest and having extra eyes can be life-saving!
