We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Milatto Shavelle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Milatto thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
One of my daily prayers is to make a impact while making an income… I pray that my goals in life are aligned with the purpose that God has planned for me. The mission overall is to establish a thriving platform that provides Minority Women & Lgbtq+ entrepreneurs opportunities, funding, bookings & a safe space to be celebrated.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I found my passion for media & the entertainment world when I was 19, I worked for paramount studios hit shows the Dr’s & Dr. Phil as the audience coordinator. As a side hustle I was featured in multiple music videos, commercials & movies. I later moved to Vegas maintaining and getting more established in the same industry as California. On set of a trident commercial I met a producer from Atlanta and he asked me if I ever been? I replied “No, but I’ve always wanted to go there” he told me I would thrive there and at that time I was 25 so that was like my favorite song to my ears. A few months later I decided to move to Atlanta. I had no kids and a failing relationship so why not!! I packed my things and booked my flight and hotel so when I landed I had a place to go. Mind you, I had never even been to Atlanta before or even knew anyone there. I moved into a weekly for 7 days and in those few days I transferred my job, got an apartment & bought a car. A year later after auditioning for many roles I decided to create my own talk show called “the tea talk show” it was a live audience show with a live band, poets, comedians, singers and celebrity guest. We filmed every Sunday for almost 4yrs then covid became a thing. After covid I focused on other dreams and goals and that’s how we came into launching the Bossties Community & later Boss Babe Awards. With all of the self experience at hand I then turned to accepting clients to help turn their dreams into reality.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
