We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Equanimous. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Olivia below.
Alright, Equanimous thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Yes, I have and I’m very grateful to be at this point. It took many years to get here, but through a bunch of trial and error, I am able to have music be my main work.
It really just all comes down to learning and applying. For example, something that is very authentically to me is being fun and silly. I’m aware that this is a slightly automated process in terms of how these articles go, and I’m also aware that when it comes to SEO it’s smart for me to have my name Equanimous be associated with names like, CloZee, LSDream, Odesza, etc. I’ve learned sometimes you just need to take chances and be real which is why I’m publicly stating in this interview that it’s probably wise of me to mention those three names so my name gets more associated in the algorithm with them.
I feel like not many artists would take the opportunity to admit such a thing, but since this is a potentially automated article, I’m using it as an opportunity to do just that, and hopefully give a little humor and smile to someone’s day :)
Equanimous, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I feel like I could talk about this for a while, but to keep things short, I’ll just say that I used to be more in the mainstream industry and then, as I became more of a conscious individual, I got more interested in the transformational music space.
From this place, I started High Vibe Records, a record label that focuses on beautiful, conscious dance music. In tandem with that, I started High Vibe Fest, an experience to highlight this music and type of organic living.
My main focus, however, is my music projects Equanimous and Bliss Looper. :)
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I do have a pretty strong, mission and goal of spreading love, consciousness, and different types of awareness through celebratory experiences, beautiful music, and organic living.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think one of the best things to do is provide education to artists about how they can be sustainable with their business practices. I think we really just need to embrace, authenticity, laughter, and love. With that being said, I would like to leave this article with a sentence that doesn’t make much sense, but that will certainly help the SEO of Equanimous…
Equanimous, Odesza, music festivals, Equanimous bass music, playlists, high vibe radio, high vibe fest. New music artist Equanimous. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be playful in an article like this, and I’m very curious to see if it actually gets shared. I really do appreciate the CanvasRebel magazine and look forward to all of the great experiences to come in the future!
