Lindsey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

Bare Beauty Spatique was created on the principle that one need not connect with a place, but with an experience. When I set out to develop my unique beauty spa, I envisioned an experience that would make my guests feel transformed, not only physically, but emotionally and mentally. My innate ability to feel and see the energy around me, plus my background and upbringing as an Asian-American woman put me in a unique position of constant self-reflection and adaptation from a very young age. I developed my skills as a harnesser of energy, an artist, and as a molder of aesthetics, and began to apply my unique-spirited approach to my work.

I succeeded in nurturing a safe space for my guests filled with innate human connection, openness, and guidance. True to my giving nature, I added skills to my repertoire, learned about business and launched Bare Beauty Spatique. I have offered guidance as a teacher to colleagues and other beauty artists, maintaining my goal of spreading the knowledge of energy-aware and guided aesthetic-wellness. I continue to expand upon my offerings and ensure my guests are not here because of a connection to a service or place, but because of a longing for an experience unlike any other. One that transforms, transports, and transcends. As soon as customers enter the Bare Beauty space, they begin a journey across a threshold of quiet self-reflection.

Lindsey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

While Bare Beauty Spatique is a beauty spa offering a plethora of services from skin care to nail care to body care, our specialty lies in our approach to aesthetic wellness, an energy-focused application with an emphasis on human connection.

Our customers come to us to feel escape, to feel pampered, and to feel a connection. Entering Bare Beauty’s space means allowing yourself to be vulnerable, placing absolute trust in the artist’s hands, journeying through abstract self-reflection, experiencing transcendence and to finally… emerge blissful. This is the emotion that is felt after interacting with the brand, one that can be achieved, repeated, and scaled. It is this feeling that drives Bare Beauty and all its assets. It is this emotion that motivates our customers to return.

It is this trust that we instill that I am most proud of.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My background as an Asian-American woman put me in a conflicting position, however, both my upbringing and my ambitious nature motivated me to see conflicts as learning opportunities and a chance to overcome them. So what one might think of as obstacles or barriers, I thought of as steps between me an my visions. It was more a question of mindset than ability, and my mindset pushed me to build upon my abilities and transcend those phases.

An example of this triumph is when I was attempting to get a loan to fund Bare Beauty. I was forced to visit thirteen different institutions until one finally agreed to go into business with me. This scenario taught me to learn more about finance to better understand the ins and out, the conversations and what was in my best interest, not to mention, to better position the business to get what we needed—another barrier that I saw as a learning opportunity.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

It’s actually quite simple: honesty and transparency. As previously mentioned, the trust we receive from our guests is what I am most proud of and that is a direct reflection of how we conduct business and foster relationships. With direct, honest, objective, and compassionate feedback and connection.
