Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fe Bryant. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Fe, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
As a creative, learning a new craft is invigorating…at first. It comes with many failed attempts but, I will say, I always come back to it. I started my creative content journey back in college (2012). It all began when I started watching MadeYewLook on YouTube. I bought my first face paint at PartyCity and I’ve been learning ever since. My makeup journey began with me doing out of the box creative looks which led to character inspired looks that ultimately led to me cosplaying. I would spend hours in my mom’s basement practicing how to use liquid latex or draw straighter lines with eyeliner. I recall a time when I scared my mom because I was practicing neck wounds. It was bloody and realistic.
Learning any craft requires lots of patience. I had to learn that every failed attempt taught me something as opposed to taking it as a complete failure. I starting asking family and friends to allow me to use them as canvases and I am so grateful for those opportunities. My current venture is furthering my knowledge of SFX makeup and photography. I spend countless hours listening to podcasts or watching videos related to my crafts and I wouldn’t change that even if I could.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
how you got into your industry? I was looking for a creative outlet and enjoyed painting previously. I began in the make-up artist industry by trying different looks with my make-up and receiving compliments and requests to replicate the looks for friends and family. I then started doing their make-up for special occasions. Family and friends started referring me and the rest is history. My first official photoshoot was 2017. Working on photoshoots led me to learn photography and editing.
what type of products/services/creative works you provide?
I provide makeup services ranging from natural glam to sfx. I specialize in creative and editorial work. As of now, I offer headshots and event photography.
what problems you solve for your clients?
I assist them in navigating the world of makeup by helping them discover products tailored to their unique features and demonstrating proper application techniques. This not only ensures they invest in the right makeup but also boosts their self-esteem and confidence through the transformative power of beauty enhancement. Through my photography, I capture and showcase their inherent beauty, allowing them to see themselves in a new light. In essence, I solve problems related to makeup selection, application, styling, and self-perception, contributing to the overall confidence and well-being of my clients.
What are you most proud of?
I believe in continuous growth and encourage others to embrace the journey of learning, discovering, and evolving. This commitment to lifelong learning not only enriches my own creative process but also creates a supportive community where others are inspired to explore their passions and expand their horizons.
“Art is all about perception, interpretation, and inspiration. Just let it flow.”

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
In my journey as a creative, one aspect that non-creatives might struggle to understand is the depth of emotional investment and vulnerability that often accompanies the creative process. Unlike more traditional and structured fields, creativity often requires thinking outside the box and embracing uncertainty. Non-creatives might find it challenging to grasp the intricacies of navigating self-expression, overcoming creative blocks, and embracing the uncertainty that comes with pushing artistic boundaries.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative, from my perspective, is the ability to bring imagination to life and evoke emotions in others. Creating something, whether it’s make-up, photography, Cosplay, a painting, styling an outfit, or any form of artistic expression, allows me to share a part of myself with the world. Witnessing the impact of my work on individuals, seeing how it resonates with them, and knowing that I’ve played a part in stirring their thoughts or feelings is incredibly fulfilling. The continuous journey of self-discovery and growth as an artist adds another layer of fulfillment. Every project is an opportunity to learn, explore new ideas, and refine my skills.
