Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Don Benjamin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Don thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

When I was going to college for basketball I realized I wasn’t going to the NBA and had to think of another passion and realized I wanted to be an actor and in the entertainment industry.

Don, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I got my start on Americas Next top Model and since then have modeled for a ton of major brands, been in films and TV shoes and now producing my own films and shows. I am proud that I never give up and I always keep up with the times to stay on point with my passions. I never let any no or negativity shape my outcome. I stay prayed up and moving in faith and it has always kept me moving up.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

It’s funny because I got my career start as a model but my passion has always been film and television so I think that passion continues to drive me to reach those goals as an actor even though I have reached a level of success I never could have imagined I’m still so hungry for more.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I have had to learn not to take things personal and understand everything is business. Continue to perfect your craft and keep working towards your goals while staying positive and eventually everything will work out.
