We recently connected with Anne Marie Covert and have shared our conversation below.
Anne Marie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Here at Anne’s Print Shop we take pride in producing our finished products in house. Anything our customers order is crafted here, we do not outsource to a warehouse over seas. We believe this allows for maximum customization and gives us the ability to give accurate estimates as far as time frame.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sure! At Anne’s Print Shop we create custom apparel & promotional products for businesses, groups, events, and just for fun! Currently we specialize in Sublimation, DTF transfers, Screen Print Transfers, and will soon be offering custom embroidery services. No job too big or too little. Whether it’s jerseys, T-shirts for your girls trip, or a bag you want your name on, we can get it done.
We just recently received our brand new 15 needle embroidery machine. We are very eager to start pumping out your custom apparel, but have to complete training to perfect our craft. Connect with us on Instagram and be on the look out for a firm date.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
I recently started uploading products to Etsy. That’s where you’ll find more of our boutique-ish and seasonal stuff. Etsy gives us the ability to sell our customizable gifts all over the country. Anne’s Print Shop right to your door step. Our shop name is: Printedbyanne on Etsy.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
It’s truly been a journey these last few years. I have acquired the equipment slowly, funded through working other jobs. I am constantly learning new ways to improve my craft every day. This whole business started on a Cricut vinyl cutting machine from Target. The Cricut was not meeting production or quality standards. I then discovered Sublimation and Screen Printing. I invested in a Sublimation printer and a heat press and got to work! We are so excited to soon be offering embroidery. In my opinion, the quality of embroidered apparel is unmatched. I cannot wait to get going with it.
