Amanda , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later.

Yes, If I could go back in time I would have started my business sooner because I would be a popular MUA and have my name all over social media platforms. Looking back as a little girl I did see my mom do makeup, she was so dedicated that I thought she would do it full time even though she worked at the Fashion Fair counter inside of Macy’s. Seeing my mom as a MUA I wanted the experience to make any woman feel beautiful on any special day or occasion.

I should have really followed her footsteps right after High School or even College, but at that time I was trying to find myself
In life. I was not sure what I wanted to do if it was Makeup or being a Nurse. I’m 36 years old and I’m finally understanding that I made the right decision to start later. I have a purpose in life to make women and men feel Beauti-Ful!

I think I did the right thing by finding my purpose now, because I needed to experience proper customer service or might not have met the most incredible people on earth that has come into my life, I have gained so much knowledge. We all have a time in our life to blossom and we just don’t know when it’s time. My time is now to show my gift and what I have to offer and Love to do. I have to always remember support will come from all over even people you don’t even know. I encourage everyone to find your talent and see what happens you will be very surprised.

Hello my name is Amanda Sullivan a Houston Native, I work for the largest Insurance Company in the United States, I have my degree in Associate of Science from Lone Star College. I have two outstanding kids Jesiah (9) ,Aaliyah (4). I am a upcoming MUA that has been scared to do something that I’m called to do. I am not scared “of” my gift anymore. I have many visions in life and this is my biggest one. I had a list of names for my business but Beauti and the Beatz stood out to me. Before the pandemic hit that’s when I wanted to start doing makeup. I had to do something to occupy my time. So I reached out to Vendors to start selling mink lashes and it’s been a success every since, after that I wanted to add more products so I started watching you-tube videos on how to make gluten-free lip-gloss. Creating a Vision can be hard and stressful but you have to stick with it and don’t give up and push yourself.

Fast forward to now after the pandemic slowed down I reached out to a few friends to see if they could be models to help build up my portfolio. I would practice on them and I did let them know it’s FREE. They agreed and the rest has been a blessing. I am currently in the process of setting up a Business Growth Expo (Brunch) in September 2022 to “emerge” “new or future” business owners and “established” successful owners to share tips on how they run their businesses. Vendors will also be present as well. I have always wanted Business Owners to “collaborate” and help one another WIN.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I build my audience by posting on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. I try and and post every day or every week and tag followers or send them a message, Make flyers and promote my business with specials and discounts on products and services. I am also on StyleSeat so that clients can book with me.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I think my future clients will come from my models posting themselves on Facebook and word of mouth. “Recently this type of exposure opened a few new opportunities for me from” such as Baby showers, Weddings, and other events.
