Hi John, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

My parent’s have always been supportive , loving and strong on respect, morals, hard work and so much more! I can honestly say I’ve taken a lot of what I was taught from my parents as a child/youth whether it have been a lesson that was taught to me, something that was said and stuck with me or even just watching and observing how my parents maneuvered through life and have applied those things to my life as an adult, parent and business owner. I’d say having them there for me and my siblings and raising us the way they did has had an amazing impact on not only my life & career but my children’s life as well. I’m thankful to say that til this day they continue to be an inspiration to me & continue to push me to be great!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Absolutely! My name is John Vergara (Owner of John V. Media) I’d like to consider myself as a self motivated, hard working and creative individual. I’ve always had a passion to create something out of nothing! One thing is for certain, My father always made sure we always had all of the latest electronics during my childhood. I’m talking from computers down to all the latest video game systems. It was 2012/2013 when he purchased his first Sony DSLR. I’m not gonna lie, he didn’t use it much at all lol I actually ended up picking it up, not knowing a single thing about it and started messing with the settings. I kept at it for a while then I eventually started looking up things about photography and started taking pictures of our family dog, family members & anything that really caught my eye. I knew I had found something that I really enjoyed but honestly I had no idea at the time, that it would take me this far in life. I took the initiative to learn everything on my own and I’ve been blessed to have other creatives around me that have also helped me learn things along my journey. I am now owner of John V. Media, I offer professional photography and videography services. I offer coverage for events, weddings, sports, family portraits, music videos and more! If you have an idea, I feel like it’s my job as a creative to bring it to life. I always ended up building relationships with a lot of my clients just because It’s so much more to me then just a photo or just a video. I really do everything with passion and take a strong sense of pride! I believe that’s what will always set me apart from most. I’m proud of how far I’ve come just picking up a camera out of curiosity back in 2013 and turning it into a successful business. I’m also proud of the rooms I’ve been able to be in and the friends I’ve been able to make from this camera. I’m blessed! I’m also still a student to the game, I continue to learn new things everyday. I believe that’s the only way to continue to elevate your craft. I’ve used social media almost my whole career but I’m proud to say I’ll be launching my official website by March, 2024! It will include booking options, my work, merch and more! stay tuned!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I’d like to say not only my unique style in photos & video, but just being a kind person & being able to provide great customer service to my clients.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

I have used social media as a source of attracting new clients for a long time, I still do. I’d have to say I use it less now though and I’ve got to a point to where word of mouth has become the best source of new clients. I’m forever grateful to all my clients that have been with me from the start and those who continue to speak highly of me and my work to family and friends.
