Janell , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

The mission behind my business Rose & Co is to make everyone feel confident & boost their confidence through lip care! I’ve always loved lip care and with me being a licensed cosmetologist I love making people feel like their best selves.

Janell , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi everyone! My name is Janell and I’m from the southwest suburbs from Chicago. I’m a content creator and a business owner!

Growing up, I was always into girly things like lip gloss, self care, makeup and more. After high school, I enrolled into Pivot Point International Cosmetology School, graduated early and became a licensed cosmetologist going on 8 years! I wanted to create an additional income for myself so I figured why not sell what I love the most, beauty and self care products!

In July 2023, I launched my very first business Rose & Co. I came up with the name of my business to pay homage and honor my late grandmother who passed away in 2008. I originally wanted to name my business Anne Marie Beauty but I felt it was too simple and plain so I decided to think outside the box. I started to search and figure out her favorite things, that’s when I realized she loved white roses and that’s when Rose & Co. was born!

Rose & Co. is designed to help women (and men) boost their self confidence all while taking care of themselves. At the moment, we offer different lip care essentials. The products we have is our number one best seller our strawberry lemonade lip scrub, our hydrating lip oil and 3 luxury lip glosses.

Our products are designed to help those with dry, cracked and discolored lips. Formulated with natural oils that absorbs and penetrates into the skin to keep your lips soft and moisturized all year round. With the right regimen, our products can prevent your lips from drying out.

What I’m most proud of is the fact that I’m blessed to provide products that will help others with their self confidence. Another thing I’m proud of is being able to create products that actually work and is suitable for all genders and ages! ♥️

I want people to know that I’m a very genuine individual who loves giving in anyway! I love helping others and I love being able to connect with different people!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

During the holiday season, I was getting ready to drop a 2 gloss collection in honor of my mom’s birthday. Just like any other time, I went ahead and ordered the gloss tubes that I needed in order to fill the upcoming orders. The shipment was going to take 2 days to be delivered however, it turned into 2 weeks! At first, I was stressed beyond measure trying to figure out what to do and I was worried about losing customers. I remained calm, took a deep breath and continued on. I reached out to everyone who made a purchase and kept them in the loop with the shipment! I was able to offer them something for the inconvenience and delay in their order. Luckily, everyone was super understanding of the holiday season and how things can be delayed during that time. Once the shipment came in, I packaged up their orders and got them sent out the next day!

I learned a valuable lesson and I also kept my composure and didn’t let the stress of something that was out of my control take over my emotions and ruin things!

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.

All of the products from Rose & Co are handmade and packed by me. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m learning more and more lessons along the way. The most valuable one that I’ve learned is that everything has to be coordinated and consistent. Your customers are going to be looking for whatever you are advertising!

Stay consistent with EVERYTHING! Brand colors, product packaging, shipping supplies, etc!
