We recently connected with Dr. David & Sheryl Iszler and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. David & Sheryl, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Dr. David: I had been practicing in Casper, Wyoming since 1994. Sheryl joined the practice in 2010. We we were very successful, but always felt like there was more in store for us than where we were. We began visiting the Phoenix area in 2012 and instantly fell in love with it. Over time, it became harder and harder to travel back to Wyoming at the end of our vacations. After a considerable amount of prayer, we decided to make the move to Arizona and start a new practice. In the summer of 2018 we sold our practice and home, then ventured off to make a new life in Arizona.
When we got here, the only people we knew were our new neighbors and one of our daughters, who moved here a year prior. We had a lot of work to do. We began networking and marketing our new practice in October. By the time our new office was ready to open in March, 2019 we had joined numerous networking groups and established countless connections.
On March 7, 2019 Trinity Chiropractic opened its doors for the first time. We were now able to help the amazing people of Glendale and surrounding areas. We were off to a great start. Then almost exactly 1 year from when we opened, the world practically shut down due to a pandemic. We went back to many sleepless nights, wondering if we will still be open in a week or if we would be forced to close our doors. We thought about how buffalo react to an approaching storm. Rather than trying to run away from it, which only prolongs the suffering. Buffalo put their heads down and charge directly into it, thereby coming out the other side much faster. We became the buffalo!
We doubled down on our networking and marketing. We knew it was not only about us, so we promoted other local small businesses as well to help them gain and retain customers. We also had promotions and fundraisers for nonprofit organizations who were struggling during that difficult time. Unlike too many other businesses, we got through the storm stronger than when we went in.
Since then, we have been on a consistent growth trajectory, helping more and more people in the West Valley feel better, heal better and live better. We were not done there. In 2022, we launched our state-of-the-art neuropathy treatment center to provide drug-free relief from peripheral neuropathy. In January, 2023 we hired our first associate doctor and are beginning the search for another.
We are not done yet! We have more high tech healing solutions coming soon to help people avoid drugs and surgery and improve their quality of life.

Dr. David & Sheryl, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Dr. David: I was introduced to chiropractic at a young age. I had chronic, debilitating headaches as a child. When I was about 10 years old, my parents took me to a chiropractor. After the very first adjustment, my headaches improved dramatically and were soon only a memory. I took it for granted that if you had health problems, you went to the chiropractor first. Only if that didn’t help did I take any medications. Since it worked so well, I almost never needed to take any pills.
It wasn’t until I was a junior in college that I even considered becoming a chiropractor. However, the more I thought about it, it became increasingly more clear that this is what I needed to do with my life. So, I applied to Palmer College of Chiropractic and was accepted. After four grueling years of graduate school, I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
I practiced in Casper, Wyoming for 24 years until Sheryl and I sold it in 2018 to move to Glendale, Arizona and open a new practice here.
Sheryl:
I have a heart for serving others which led me to the field of social work. I was a case manager at a mental hospital before receiving my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wyoming. I was a school social worker for many years working primarily with children who had behavioral and developmental disabilities. Although I enjoyed this work tremendously, I longed to be an entrepreneur and to be able to work with my husband. We had the opportunity to start a doctor-supervised weight loss program at our practice in 2010. The program took off and I ended up resigning from the school district to run our weight loss program. We helped our clients in Casper, Wyoming lose over 84,000 pounds and get off of diabetes, cholesterol and high blood pressure medications. My husband and I found that we worked beautifully together. He has strengths that I do not and I have strengths that he does not. We thrived on building a practice that helped people with natural healthcare solutions.
I have watched members of my own family, including my mother and sister, suffer with back issues. Unfortunately, their doctors’ answers were opiates and surgery. My mother passed away a number of years ago and my sister has had 7 spinal fusions and a spinal stimulator. My goal is to educate as many people as possible about chiropractic so that they can hopefully avoid what my mother and sister had to endure. I recently became certified as a neuropathy case manager and have found a whole new passion for serving our patients who suffer with this debilitating condition. I am driven every day by their stories of success!
One of our daughters has also joined our practice. She also has the heart to serve others and is our other certified neuropathy case manager.
Dr. David:
When Trinity Chiropractic was born, we wanted it to be different than the typical chiropractic experience. We traveled the country to meet with top chiropractors in the profession for inspiration on office layout as well as what therapies and rehabilitation procedures to give our patients the best opportunity for long-term success rather than a short-term patch on their pain.
Our patients are not numbers to us. They become part of our Trinity Chiropractic family. We laugh with them. We cry with them. And we celebrate their successes with them. We feel this is the main reason we have been awarded “Best Chiropractor in Glendale” for the past three years in a row, as well as multiple “Best Chiropractor” awards for the West Valley. We love serving our patients and community.
I am one of very few chiropractors in the Valley that are certified in Torque Release Technique, and the only one I am aware of in the West Valley. Torque Release Technique (TRT) is the newest technique in chiropractic. It was developed at the University of Miami School of Medicine. This gentle technique uses the only FDA-approved tool to adjust spinal misalignments. We are able to use this gentle technique, which does not involve twisting or cracking, along with other effective chiropractic techniques to tailor the treatment to the individual.
In addition to chiropractic adjustments, we offer spinal decompression, low level laser therapy (LLLT), high intensity laser therapy (HILT), shockwave therapy, and spinal/postural rehabilitation to provide long-term results.
Over my thirty years in practice, I have had more and more patients come to me with the pain, numbness, tingling, burning, and loss of balance associated with peripheral neuropathy. The standard treatment for neuropathy is medication, which simply alters the brain’s perception of the symptoms and does nothing to address the underlying cause. I knew there had to be something that could help address the cause of these symptoms, so I became Board Certified in Neuropathy.
We launched our research-based, proven, state-of-the-art neuropathy treatment in 2022 and have helped many patients achieve effective relief without medications.
We are always looking for more ways to leverage technology to help our patients get back to doing what they love, so we will be launching a new FDA-approved treatment modality very soon that will help provide lasting relief for difficult cases.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Sheryl: When we moved to Arizona to open a new practice we knew we would need to hit the ground running. We only knew a handful of people in Arizona. We researched the many different networking groups in our area when we moved here. We joined BNI and the Glendale Chamber of Commerce 5 months before we opened our doors while our buildout was being completed. We took the time before we opened to get to know the many other business owners in these groups, attend ribbon cutting ceremonies, meet 1-1 to see how we could help them grow their business or be a resource to them. By the time we opened and had our ribbon cutting ceremony, we were blessed with 120 people attending to support us! Many of them were people we had met through BNI and the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, including Mayor Weiers. We were humbled and thankful for everyone’s support.
Networking became part of my passion to help educate the people in the community about chiropractic to help them avoid drugs and surgery. I was in a total of 12 networking groups before the pandemic and 50% of our new patients came from these sources. We are passionate about helping other businesses succeed as well and looked for opportunities to help other small businesses. We would not be here without the support of so many people in the community. We want to be able to support and give back to the community that has so warmly accepted us.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Dr. David: We read various books by authors such as John Maxwell, Grant Cardone, Chris Voss, and others. However, what had the most impact was hiring an amazing business coach, Brian Harding with Service Industry Success. Brian has helped us establish and refine systems to make us more efficient and effective with our time. He has also greatly helped us improve our mindset and managerial skills to lead our team toward success. He has also helped us realize that we are not the only ones to struggle at times.
Not only do the most successful athletes need coaches. The most successful entrepreneurs do as well. Find a coach that resonates with your values and goals and you will be unstoppable!
