We were lucky to catch up with RHONDA SPRATT recently and have shared our conversation below.
RHONDA, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the pandemic, as an event planner, I experienced a unique set of challenges because of social distancing, I was forced to cancel a client’s wedding vow renewal, Vision Board workshops and postpone the annual Women’s Retreat. The impact of the pandemic on the event and travel industry was staggering! I was forced to reevaluate my business, pivot, and begin hosting online events. Although in-person events were affected by the pandemic, there were many benefits to hosting virtual events such as the ability to reach a larger audience, flexibility of time and space, and financial savings.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
A few years ago, I wanted to rebrand my event planning company, Bella Luve’ Events by Design to attract ideal clients. So, I hired a business consultant. One of the valuable lessons she taught me was to be consistent and authentic on each social media post. She stressed the importance of being myself to establish trust with an audience to attract my tribe because potential clients would know if I was being insincere. With her advice in mind, I began to grow my social media audience organically; by simply being transparent, open, and honest. I would give the same advice to newcomers who are beginning to build a social media presence.
