We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Diana Heron. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Diana below.
Diana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I manage my own social media but I wish I knew a younger somebody that could manage my business pages. As an artist and designer, I find it difficult to put down my craft and pick up the entrepreneurial aspect. I solely made the choice of managing my own social media due to cost and time, but I’m pretty sure if I gave up that control to a professional my business would profit more.
My advice to anyone thinking about what to do is to learn your audience. If your art or product draws a certain crowd. Deliver and cater EVERYTHING towards their lingo and visual interests. I’ve found that when people are reminded of something specific by looking at my work…I’ve gained a loyal follower.

Diana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a self taught multimedia artist. I got into the industry by creating several things that I love and people purchase them to inspire their own brand.
I want potential clients to realize that my brand is always evolving and I’m open to customize their experience. With that being said, I really value making one of one that show lots of risk taking and imagination.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of mouth and tagging my name in pictures has helped me tremendously.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I really had to learn to stop comparing myself to other artists. “Why don’t I have the same visibility or accolades as them?” My will be specifically for ME.
