We recently connected with Clifton Dorsey and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Clifton , thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Well I have always been an artist ever since I could remember. I was always known for sketching ,charcoal, and painting. The older I became the father removed I had become with using my talents. My mom passed away in 2013 , I was asleep one night and she came to me in a dream ( I thought) but it was more like a conversation. She stated that I have always had an interesting life an outlook on things and I should finish writing the book about my life story and start tattooing. So that morning I bought my first ever tattoo kit and this journey began.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We here at Ink Mob Studios provide an intimate experience for our clients ecause tattoos are very personable. We are dedicated to accomplishing works of art that suit our clients style and personality. We provide a variety of styles when it come to our craft, from realism to new school ,cartoon realism and neo-trad. What sets us apart from other studios is that we take pride in our comfortability. Make sure that even our first time clients feel like that have known us forever. We want you to “leave your home and come to your home”. As a shop owner I am mostly proud of the fact that I have created and artistic space for others to strive successfully and live out their dreams.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think well for me the most effective strategy for growing clientele has to be “Consistency “ . Every line you apply to the skin has to be crisp, every stroke of shading should be saturated and have contrast, evrytime you pack color it should be solid and never blotchy. Take your time to get it right every time. People will notice the consistency of your skill, word of mouth travels fast so if you are student of your craft at all times your never have to worry about clientele because it’ll be overflowing. Do it because you love it and not because of the money. Love shine through your art and the client can see that every time.
