Hope, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
The hot topic for the past few years has been artificial intelligence (AI). This has eased the load for many businesses, especially those in the creative field, who need help but do not have the budget to hire more staff.
Sounds great, right? Well, like everything in life, there is a down side.
Seeing how helpful AI can be, many people who do not have the adequate experience are coming into the creative field with the hopes that AI will do all the work for them. This leads to the novices pricing their product extremely low to be competitive while those who have advanced creative skills experience their costs being perceived as inflated.
It can be frustrating to see others cheapening what you take pride in doing. However, just like the never-ending battle of high-end fashion versus fast fashion brands, quality trumps all.
You see it all the time—logos for $10. Websites for pennies on the dollar. And often times, those clients will get what they paid for.
Ultimately, the businesses that value premium quality, display authenticity and can truly take pride in bringing the client’s dream to life are the ones who meet the right kinds of clients.
Software like Canva and ChatGPT can be great to use as a guide or added help. It just shouldn’t be your entire business strategy.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
You can’t fake caring about people. With every project that we take on, we have a genuine interest in the outcome. I follow up to make sure that the client and organization is going well. We truly become an extension of our clients.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth is amazing. Do good work, and your clients will do the referring for you. Yes, using traditional marketing strategies can work, but client referrals have been the best source of new business for me. That’s why it’s important to keep your word and have a solid product.
