We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Abigail Hunter. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Abigail below.
Abigail, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
There are three ingredients that I believe contribute towards one’s success: energy, courage and confidence. In Kundalini Yoga, we talk a lot about prana or chi- life force energy, as we experience more of it as a result of our practice. It takes a specific amount of chi to show up, meet the demands of your day, and to “move the ball” forward. It takes even more chi to hold and maintain your success when it comes. This is something that I teach my clients about and offer tools to self-generate enough chi through breath-work, meditation and mantra.
It takes courage to show up, be seen and to create something unique. It takes courage to keep showing up, even and especially when you fail, and to hold true to your vision. You just have to have the courage to fail, to be resilient, and to be yourself. I’ve experienced this too many times to count where a launch I was very vocal about flopped. For example, I run a women’s meditation group called Fortitude & Grace. The first two rounds didn’t have any sign ups. Instead of holding to a story and making it mean something (about me), I shifted my messaging to reflect even more of my vibe and showed up again with my offer. That’s when it took of and is one of my most popular offerings to date.
Confidence is something that, similarly, is sourced from within. Knowing who you are, what you’re about, and communicating that with the world speaks volumes when you’re in your center and feeling confident. It takes consistent, mindful attention to maintain, as fear and doubt are an inevitable part of the process. (In fact, when fear and doubt are prevalent, I know I’m on the right track and might be near a breakthrough!) I’ve found that embracing this polarity: success and resistance, allows me to stay in my inner power and stay the course, anyway.

Abigail, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Abigail (“Jot Amrita”) and I am a former clinical social worker turned kundalini, reiki, entrepreneur, mentor, intuitive channel, and mystic. In my 10 years as a clinical social worker, I felt limited by my work and felt I needed to support others’ inner transformation beyond behavioral and talk therapies. After training in Kundalini Yoga and becoming attuned to reiki, I finally was able to meet clients from an energetic and spiritual approach, which felt more aligned with who I am.
My own journey from anxious, unhappy, burnt out, and feeling small and unfulfilled, to a confident, calm, and creative entrepreneur is noteworthy. I love sharing what has helped me heal and transform through my offerings in a grounded, real-life accessible and authentic way. My product suite is perfect for creatives and healers and offers a range of experiences. From an virtual studio of kundalini practices, to women’s meditation group: “Fortitude & Grace”, and individual mentorship: “Awakened Humaning” which offers the accountability and application of Kundalini practices, self-lovingkindness rituals and healing energy I channel. There is something for everyone’s level of readiness to be introduced or to deepen their healing with these practices.
I’m most excited about a new container for creatives: “Inner Alchemy” that offers creatives the support of a community along with my individual mentoring and the application of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. This 6-month container avails more energy, calm and confidence for participants who oftentimes are forging their own unique path. I can’t wait to see their expansion as they have a more confident stage presence, an increase in prosperity and aligned opportunities, all while leaning on the support of deep, soulful friendships who “get it”.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I recently have experienced the biggest life-pivot: getting a divorce from my ex-husband. Kundalini Yoga oftentimes brings about change as you free yourself from past karma and balance and clear your energy field. The relationship completed, as it reached a plateau, and so did my business. I knew I had a choice to stay in the familiar and comfortable, or take a leap of faith into the unknown. I leaned into intuition, trusted the inner “niggle” decided to make big changes. As a result, I’ve have found new innovation, breakthroughs in my business, and now have a new, growing network I wouldn’t otherwise have if I hadn’t done the hard thing. I’ve seen first hand how personal trials and pivots can be the game-changer in your business, because doing business requires consistent inner work. When your inner (and outer) world changes, when you heal or learn something new about yourself, endless possibility awaits.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I recently read “The Game of Life and How to Play It” by Florence Schovel Shinn, which offers a metaphysical approach to doing life and business. I found it refreshing to learn how our thought is so incredibly powerful- it creates our experience. In fact, what we see in our business is a direct result to how we have used our mind. I particularly loved the concept of “digging your ditch” to prepare for catching your success. I have to expect that whatever I’m launching will be successful and take practical measures to be ready and able to receive the inflow. When I create something new, I think about this for inspiration and to support my mindset.
