Hi Sandra E. , thanks for joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
Coaching has been a dream of mine since I graduated from Nazarene Bible College in May of 2021. As God would have it, He began aligning my coaching journey by speaking to a lady in Idaho whom I met in Cancun, Mexico, in 2022.
One day, she called me and said, “Sandra, you are a coach. How would you like for me to sponsor your coaching education? If I sponsor you, will you attend? She said she attended Coach U years ago and could sign us both up today. I was thrilled and overjoyed, knowing God was doing what He does best.
If truth be told, I had just paid for an online coaching package and received a refund after discovering that it was not at all what I expected. I prayed and asked God to align me with a college where I would receive a professional coaching practicum. within two weeks, God heard and answered my prayer.
She asked me to hold on to the line while she reached out to Coach U, and I did. When she returned, she introduced me to the receptionist at Coach U and handled the enrollment right then and there. I was ecstatic, to say the least. I will forever be grateful for her stepping out on faith and seeing the “COACH” in me.
About two weeks into my schooling, we were obligated to have real coaching sessions with real clients, and I will forever remember my first client. His name is Mr. Howard. The greatest benefit from Ms. Jackson’s personal coaching has been gaining a better understanding of recognizing the obstacles that proved to be hindrances. With this ability, it is much easier to appropriately address and deal with issues that would have previously gone unanswered.
Coaching sessions with Ms. Jackson have proven to surpass any and all expectations substantially. As such, Ms. Jackson’s methods were found to be very effective. My coach was a model for me in achieving the insight required to tackle previously unrealized issues, making the task of resolution much more attainable.
Trust in my coach was easily applicable as she always treated me in a respectful manner. Though the sessions were enjoyable, my coach’s position didn’t waver as she adhered to a tough standard designed to facilitate a successful outcome. Our sessions were well organized, and Ms. Jackson was always punctual at the initiation and conclusion of our meetings.
Additionally, I felt confident in the fact that Ms. Jackson always made herself available at any point I needed to contact her between the scheduled sessions. Within one month of beginning the process, my confidence in Ms. Jackson’s abilities had grown exponentially. My coach helped me maintain the focus on the purpose of the sessions regardless of the distractions I had to contend with.
Ms. Jackson’s greatest strength lay in her ability to listen and “hear” issues that I had not recognized, which helped in the arena of self-awareness.
In closing, I would like to state this was my first experience with the process of sessions dedicated to personal development and internal growth. Oddly enough, there was never a thought of its need, but I’m thrilled to have been proven wrong.

It is impossible to describe the feeling when I received an unexpected congratulatory email stating I had completed Phase 1 of Coach U’s Professional Coach Training Program, attesting that I completed 78 training hours, 16 group mentor coaching hours, and three individual mentor coaching hours which was a requirement to received my personalized certificate.
When I first began, it was a little intimidating; I didn’t have the confidence needed; however, day by day, week by week, I began to feel assured that this was my true calling. I began to feel at home and was excited about each week of training.
