Hi LeBrian & Shennice, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
When we started L. Media it was not the most ideal time to started a business. Shennice has been a business owner or entrepreneur for over 20+ years. I have been in insurance for almost 30 years. Both are independent of each other. As spouses, the thoughts of working together and living together made us quite nervous. How would this change our dynamic? Would we tire of each other? We would we are argue? Or would it be magical and everything we hoped for?
We took the leap and decided that if we can make an amazing life as a couple then why can’t we make an amazing business as a couple. So L. Cleckley Media was born. The L. is actually for both of our names. My name is obviously starts with an L. yet what others don’t know is so does Shennice’s first name which is LaConia. It all worked. It was definitely synergy.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Shennice: All of my businesses have self funded. When I opened my 2nd bakery in 2015, I did uses store and vendor credit for equipment. Now I would not recommend doing this. I was always cash poor. No matter how much I sold , it seemed like my cash flow was also slow.
With L. Cleckley Media, we are initially self funding yet we are implementing 2 fundraising strategies for capital. Our first is a crowdfunding campaign. Our goal is to raise $25,000 or more through these efforts. The second will be through sponsorships and affiliates. We are of course doing some bootstrapping. We have converted our garage into a full content creation studio.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Fostering a strong connection with our clients and building brand loyalty is a cornerstone of our approach. We prioritize consistent and meaningful communication through various channels to ensure our clients feel valued and engaged.
Firstly, we maintain an active presence on social media and digital platforms. However, instead of solely broadcasting content, we aim to initiate genuine conversations. We share behind-the-scenes insights, engage in discussions, and provide content that resonates with our audience’s experiences. This approach helps us stay connected with our clients on a personal level, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Moreover, we complement our digital presence with offline interactions. Organizing community events, and meet-ups allows us to establish face-to-face connections. Shennice really believes in the power of personalized gestures. Sending handwritten notes, offering surprise gifts, and acknowledging important milestones in our viewers and sponsors lives are ways we demonstrate our genuine care and appreciation for their support.
It’s all about authenticity and a genuine interest in nurturing lasting relationships. We prioritize meaningful engagement over promotional content, aiming to create an environment where clients feel heard, valued, and part of a larger community that shares common values and experiences.
