We recently connected with BRETT Griffey and have shared our conversation below.
Hi BRETT, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope that I set an example for my children and grand children that you are only here for a short time, don’t waste it and don’t wait. Pursue everything your heart desires until it no longer does. Do what ever you desire and learn as much as you can and strive to be the best you can be at it.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I wanted to be an actor from the time I was 13. My sister took me to see the first Star wars film at the Cinema. I had always thought what a wonderful career and fun that would be. I did not have anyone that I knew that could tell me anything about acting or even how to go about it. I kept that dream locked in a special box throughout my life. As I got older and my daughters were going off to college i wondered if it was my time to pursue things. I kept my eyes open and loved going to movies. I saw my wife’s cousins son’s wife, had taken some acting classes she had posted on Social media. I was now in my mid 50’s, was I too late to the party, was I still interested. I decided to give it a shot to see if I even had what it took or liked it. I contacted the teacher and started classes. After I figured out what I was doing I fell in love with acting. Currently I have been in 13 films. So as we have heard many many times in our life. Don’t give up on your dreams.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to learn to be myself. This was what allowed me to talk comfortably with anyone. I never really understood that. When I first started acting I thought I needed to mimic some of the greats. When in reality just being yourself you will develop into a great actor just like them. The difference between a high school basketball player and a Pro player is Time and discipline. It’s how you use your time.
