We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Joycelynn Patterson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Joycelynn , thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

After battling chronic pain for many years due to my own health obstacles & injuries .I took a risk at making my own muscle rub and oils using natural products .I also began making my own creams , lotions for my clients who simply had dry skin or wanted specific benefits beyond the pain rub.I am now a small business owner looking to grow & expand but most import raise awareness & share my survivor story to others .I also enjoy cooking but have been letting my family do the catering business while I heal from numerous surgeries and ongoing health battles.

Joycelynn , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Ive battled chronic pain for many years and have purchased countless amounts of muscle rub as well as skin care products .In 2022 I decided to make my own products . I passed out samples and customers would place orders .Covid has caused things to be very tedious at times but things are going in a positive direction.Im mainly focused on the skin care right now as its been a highly requested item .I have assisted clients with their pain reduction and have assisted many with dry skin issues.I want people to know anything is possible.Take the risk

Can you talk to us about how your funded your firm or practice?

I utilized my savings to start small and am still continuing to apply for grants in hopes to have more funding for growth in my future

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?

I believe having a positive attitude, remaining professional and offering quality products or services is the way to succeed along with networking .
