Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittnee Lee . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittnee, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Our parents made sure they instilled a love of the great outdoors at a young age- from camping, hiking and learning to respect mother nature. Fate would have it, that we would eventually meet and fall in love at a campground both of our families had been camping at since we were children.
Brittnee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are a pet friendly glampground aka glamours camping. We want to offer a place for people to reconnect with nature and themselves. We know from personal experience that sometimes we don’t have the time or the energy to do all the setting up that comes with that. So we do the hard work for you – from our queen size memory foam mattress, down blankets, French press, Blackstone griddle, lanterns, phone charges, board games, dining ware, shampoo, towels and rustic bathrooms. The only thing you have to worry about is what food and beverages you’ll need throughout your stay. We even supply firewood for purchase along with a wagon to help carry it to your site. What sets us apart is we have each site far enough away from each other that you truly get to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature; but not so far that families could all rent out the tents and enjoy each other’s company at our pond filled with tree frogs to sing you a lullaby while you stargaze on a clear night. We’re also close to Historic downtown Honesdale, lots of local hiking and a local farmer that sells the best fresh produce if you find the need to connect with the outside world during your stay.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
We took a risk and ended up taking a loan out on our home to purchase the property, tents and the materials that go with it to make sure you have a cozy stay. All of this was done in the middle of winter putting opening up for our first season on hold for a few months. This was extremely difficult making ends meet with a new payment and no additional revenue.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We do all of our bookings on Airbnb. They’ve been great on helping get our business out there. Along with decals on our personal vehicles, apparel, social media and the old fashioned way of handing out flyers and word of mouth.
