We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brett Christoffel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brett below.
Brett, appreciate you joining us today. So, one thing many business owners consider is donating a percentage of sales or profits to an organization or cause. We’d love to hear your thoughts and the story behind how and why you chose the cause or organization you donate to.
For over five years, All Y’alls Foods has been committed to making a difference. With each bag sold, we contribute to Rowdy Girl Sanctuary in Waelder, Texas—the pioneering cattle ranch turned vegan animal sanctuary. To date, our partnership has resulted in us donating nearly $30,000 since 2018. Teaming up with them was a natural choice, given their significance to the movement. At the heart of our business is a mission-driven approach, ensuring we support organizations that are making positive changes in the world.
Brett, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Brett Christoffel, a Texan who, in 2016, discovered a passion for cows akin to that for dogs, so I stopped eating them. This revelation led me to create All Y’alls Foods, which launched in May 2018, reinventing Texas’s protein traditions with plant-based alternatives. Our mission is to offer bold & uniquely flavored, delicious, nourishing products while conserving resources—using just 1/13th of what’s needed for traditional meats. Our lineup, featuring four flavors of It’s Jerky Y’all and our Big & Crunchy Bacony Bits Y’all surpasses beef jerky in protein, calcium, iron, and magnesium. It is rich in fiber and phytonutrients, all without any cholesterol.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
A lifetime friend of mine recently suggested a book that has had the largest positive impact on my well-being, and that is Michael Singer’s The Untethered Soul. While he is not the first person to realize our human situation, he found there was a book long before called The Three Pillars of Zen. Please investigate Untethered and enjoy the learning. “You are not the voice inside, but you are the one that hears it.” His most recent book is an amazing follow-up titled. Living from a place of surrender. **New twins study on Netflix is worth your time, and again, enjoy the learning!
How did you build your audience on social media?
The first thing I want to say is Thank You to every single person who follows us, likes a post, shares a post, and says amazing kindnesses like I have never known. As a dude who loves people, animals, and the planet and is now all in on my plant-based protein adventure, people care about the mission if you have one other than making money. The why seems important, and if you look back on our earliest feeds, they were filled with pictures of bags around the world and such; today, it’s about my vision and our mission for All Y’alls and for plant-based proteins in Texas. Don’t try to sell people; engage and connect by being real but creative and consistent. Giving a solid damn about what you are up to, makes it worth the challenges within the adventure. Keep going and AI will be changing the game on social in 2024 and beyond.
