We were lucky to catch up with Hannah Pearson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hannah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
As a business owner, I have quickly come to realize how crucial it is to ensure that your client experience is one of the most important aspects of your business. Ensuring that they are always in the loop, and feel valued and that the level of communication is what it should be.
There are two things I do for my clients when we first start working together.
The first is in their onboarding questionnaire I ask them a series of questions about their business, but one of most important questions I ask is “As a social media agency, what can we do to make you feel taken care of and valued as a client?”. Whenever a client answers this question it is usually a very positive response because it is immediately evident to them I genuinely care about their business being successful and us having a positive work partnership together.
The second thing that I have implemented with my clients through our onboarding process is sending them a small gift with a thank you card. I think this is something that truly made an impactful first impression on my clients as it shows that I took time to go out of my way to make them feel special and truly valued as a client.
Hannah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve worked as a professional in the marketing industry for about 4 years. I was fortunate to acquire quite a broad skillset by working in industries such as automotive, liquor, home improvement, religious organizations, beauty, sports, retail, and my favorite veterinary. I also received my Bachelor’s degree from The University of South Florida in Public Relations and Advertising. Creating Marketing Strategies is something I enjoy because psychology has always been an interest of mine. You have to put yourselves in the mind of your target audience to be able to create the content that they want to see. I love the process of crafting a strategy and then putting my creativity into it, especially with social media. When I see positive results, whether it’s more followers or an increase in revenue it excites me! I strongly believe every business should invest in high-quality branding & marketing because it just exudes a new level of professionalism.
I have always been very optimistic and driven when it comes to my career endeavors. Since I was a little girl I always wanted to have my own business. My dad is a serial entrepreneur and has created many successful businesses, he is an incredibly hard worker and has always been my inspiration. Being able to build a business that I’m passionate about that is also successful is a life-long dream coming true.
I consider myself a go-getter. That’s how I came up with the name grow-getters, cause I’m a go-getters and always striving for growth.
GrowGetters Marketing is a digital marketing agency that specializes in growing online communities and generating revenue for passionate entrepreneurs. Some of the services we offer are Social Media Management, Paid Ads, Email Marketing, Website Design, and Google My Business Optimization. Something that sets us apart from our competitors is we are very data-driven even when it comes to social media.
We utilize a few different metric tracking systems to always improve our marketing strategy and to ensure that our clients see the best return on investment. I see a lot of marketing agencies that charge a ton of money for marketing, but there is little to no communication with the client. The client should never be out of the loop and should always be able to see where their money is going and what the return on investment is.
We have a very thorough onboarding process to ensure that everything we do whether it’s social media, website design, ads, etc. everything is cohesive and aligns with the values & mission of the business. We place a strong emphasis on branding because high-quality branding is essential to building a brand with marketing.
We are a company that truly cares about the clients we work with. We work hard to ensure not only that we get the best results for our them, but that they feel valued, and that it is a partnership. We want not only to watch our clients grow, but grow with them!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
About two months after my daughter was born, it was time for me to go back to work at the agency I was working for. After a few weeks of being back at work, I just had a feeling one day that it was time for me to leave my job to finally pursue my business. As any parent knows, having a newborn is no joke. Let alone trying to work & care for a newborn can be very difficult. That day I remember telling my husband it was time for me to leave my job, but that I wasn’t fully ready. The next day, my boss unexpectedly called me to give me a one-month notice of being laid off. I was SHOCKED, and I thought I was not ready to fully pursue my business yet, and I was honestly really scared to fail.
I realized that day it was clear God had a new direction for my life and I just needed to trust him. As much as I love being a mother, I am very career-driven and wanted to be able to pursue a career I was passionate about while still being a mom. The first few months of starting the business I was shocked at how much work really went into growing it, finding clients, building systems, learning accounting, and learning so many different elements that you never even think of when you decide to start a business.
The first few months were really scary because you’re investing so much time and effort into something when the field is extremely competitive, and you hit a lot of dead ends. It took me a few months to start making some income, but when I finally did it helped to drive me to work even harder. There were times I doubted myself a lot, and that I did feel like I was going to fail. I feel like no one ever talks about how hard starting a business is and how it can be lonely sometimes. Mindset is truly everything. I am so grateful I had my husband, to support me and encourage me, and my family close by to help out with Amelia.
Amelia my daughter has been an inspiration for me, I wanted to build something that I was proud of, but something that I know one day would also inspire her to work hard for her goals. Being a mom & an entrepreneur at the same time was something I never thought I would do, nor did I plan…at all, but it has been the most amazing, challenging, and rewarding experience.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
