Alright, Ivan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I always knew I had a creative side from drawing, to writing, acting, etc. Since a kid, I loves performing. So, I think its one of God gift. I always have a different look or perspective on things. See music, art in everything around. I always love to create not just art, but live art, connections or all styles.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Since high-school, I was one of those kids in the hallway trying spit some bars with some friends just playing. It’s when I got into college. I’ll say that’s when I picked up the pen for real and started doing poetry. I wanted to know if I was good or something so I shared It with a couple friends. They said they like it but I needed real answers. So I was walking past to go to the gym and heard people across the way. When I met some people speaking poetry etc. I linked in and shared a piece of mine I wrote. They enjoyed it as well. So, me being me just a talkative, outgoing person I met a lot of good people in life. I heard someone was having an open mic one day downtown. That was the night to see if I had talent or any at all. Fear was there but I couldn’t sit and wait. Do I wrote my name down and when I performed. It was quiet….. then the round of applause came. I didn’t realize until later when after I perfom why it be so quiet? It’s because I found out, people are truly listening to what I have to say or like what I say. I took off from there to doing more open mics. Led me to connect more and better opportunities. Which led me to rapping for Soulbody Hiphop cyphers. Acting, Modeling etc. So as art itself I create Art in every way possible. Life itself. 3LUE since my name is Ivan Blue 3LUE stand for me. It looks like Blue with a 3, but it’s really 3-LUE which stands for Love, Us, Equal. I got me a business now, a Brand. Just drop an Album. Release on the 12th. My artist name is 3LUE on a platforms. THE HEARTS OF 3LUE. Is the name of it. I look forward to upcoming shows and more blessings . For those who don’t know but my city know I been for the community n help in anyway I can and push positive and love. My Brand, business is ro show and help the next to unlock their purpose or talents. To create generational wealth for themselves. Live of what makes them happy not check to check.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

To push Love and create art in each in every way

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Change my old ways. Unlearn what I learn. Be different. Be myself. I come from a harsh background, rough city. Overcame a lot of obstacles can say, still am. With God I can do anything, that I know for sure.
